Nah, that is pretty decent for a thursday release. In reais it made R$2.9M, we are looking at R$15M+ for the weekend, R$20M possible if good legs.

Which is bad no? I mean yes FK opened to R$15M but that was after R$15M week of previews and during world cup. May be it hit R$20M and full run of R$75M aka 3.75M admits vs 5.3M of FK

you confound me sometimes Charlie. You really want this to bomb dont you?

It's not between JW & FK. FK didn't had a normal OW. It had one week of previews of 1036K admits before official 929K weekend for 2065K.

JW had 1478K weekend.

While this looks like 750-950K weekend from that THU number.

I don't think that is very fair to compare 7 days of previews with almost full circuit + the official weekend (11 days total) vs the 4-days release of Dominion. The admissions from the pre-release weekend was at 626.2k, for a launch of R$11.35M + R$6.25M from the weekdays + R$15.8M from the official weekend release.

Not overall but having such a long previews will dampen the OW. Here despite no previews its below FK in admissions(unless I am reading it wrong). I dont think it will hit overall admissions of FK anyway.

Still overall its not a bad number. I hope inflation would take its gross at least in Real close to 1st movie. Exchange rate is also worse. it was ~ 3.8 back during FK and now at 4.77. That wont help with USD gross for sure.

With Dominion, box office is up 80% for the best weekend of the year, it also became the best opening from Universal since the pandemic. Later today, Dominion will became the 10th movie this year to pass 1 million in admissions, Top Gun had an more than impressive hold and DS2 is already the 7th biggest movie of all time.
