Like NWH, this first day was nearly impossible to find available screenings if you haven't pre-ordered your ticket. Waiting for more informations for the official number because what the hell, that is just a bit lower than NWH's wednesday opening (R$14.5M). Unlike DS2 however, it was up on thursday (But also it was december, so don't see as a negative). UPDATE - Official numbers: R$25.3M, 1.2M tickets sold, 3D screenings being responsible of 1/3 of the thursday BO. But it still had the 5th best opening of all time and it became the 15th movie to manage to sell 2M+ tickets on the first weekend. Sonic 2 passed the R$50M mark, but every other movie had tragic drops, wth Morbius and The Batman kissing goodbye from the ranking. Next weekend releases The Northman, The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, Black Water Abyss and the local Águas Selvagens. Until wednesday, DS2 have sold 4.7M tickets, with yesterday it should have passed the first movie's 4.82M admissions. That would be an 50%-ish drop if it holds up (they keep overtracking this movie so much, I'm not even trying anymore). TGM is selling really well for the pre-release next weekend. Is not doing Marvel levels, but I've seen some people here and on Reddit worried about how much foreign markets are interested in this franchise, but I can assure Brazil is not one of those that you need to worry. It is now 2022's biggest movie. The Northman had a pretty good launch considering the amount of screenings it got. There was a promotion during the weekend were children movies from Brazil were 1/3 the normal price and that is the only reason DPA 3 is so high despite barely charting on friday and thursday. Next weekend is the pre-release of Top Gun Maverick, and there will also be Dog, Firestarter, The Medium and Quatro Amigas numa Fria.
