Inside Out 2 smashed, destroyed and spit on the expectations. It had the second best opening of all time, made the movie immediately jump for the no. 1 place of the year and it had an opening 9.8x better than the original movie. One more important detail, the period between saturday and sunday was actually the best of all time for the movie, earning even more than Endgame. We have a candidate for the best selling movie of all time in Brazil, that is if DM4 do not make things weird. As expected, it also killed almost every other movie in theaters, except Bad Boys 4, that managed to impress too holding bellow 50%, showing the strenght of the brand in the region. Outside the top 10, Furiosa have passed 1 million admissions. Next weekend releases A Quiet Place - Day One, To De Graça, The Great Escaper and Salamandra. On saturday Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is back once more after the massive success from the last re-release. And yes, pre-sales are extremely full just like the first time. Adding to A Quiet Place also selling decently on pre-sales, it looks like the drough of Brazil's box office is over for now. 6

ThatWaluigiDude
THIS WEEKEND"S SCREEN COUNT: - A Quiet Place Day One: 856 screens -Tô de Graça: 421 screens -The Great Escaper: 115 screens -Testament: 18 screens
ThatWaluigiDude
A QUIET PLACE: DAY ONE T-1 PRE-SALE COMPS Furiosa (127.21%): R$1.4M Planet of the Apes (64.79%): R$1.43M Civil War (243.66%): R$2M Bad Boys 4 (100%): R$1.41M Now that is interesting, pre-sales for A Quiet Place finished very similar to Bad Boys 4. Until the day is over it should increase the difference, for the franchise it is pretty damn good. The first movie opened with R$5.7M and made R$23M total and the second opened with R$3.6M and made R$10.5M total. Quite likely Day One will have the best opening of the franchise and the best opening for horrors this year. ThatWaluigiDude
Around R$14.5M for Inside Out 2 on tuesday. 6M admissions have been reached.
ThatWaluigiDude
Between monday and wednesday Inside Out 2 sold R$44M/ 2.6M admissions, and Bad Boys 4 R$2M. Thanks to Inside Out 2 it was the most profitable week of the year, beating the the Cinema Week on february, that made R$55M total. Despicable Me 4 have been gained some steam on the pre-sales, now around 1/3 of what Garfield had its final day. It will be very interesting to see how IO2 and DM4 will behave competing with each other.
ThatWaluigiDude
Thursday box office (27/06) 1) Inside Out 2: R$11.2M/ 568.1k admissions (-38%) 2) A Quiet Place Day One: R$1.4M/ 75.8k admissions 3) Tô de Graça: R$229.6k/ 12.3k admissions I just LOVE when my comps hit the nail just right lol. A Quiet Place: D1 did exactly what Bad Boys 4 did on its first day after doing exactly the numbers Bad Boys 4 did from pre-sales. The result is double from the first day of the original and almost 3x of the first day of the sequel. Besides this, there was an obvious excelent hold for Inside Out 2 and for a second weekend above R$50M, maybe even R$60M+. charlie Jatinder
Not sure if any matches this weekend but feels like R$70M+ should be done from R$11M THU. Weekend = TFSS That would mean ~R$215M by SUN. Another R$140M should be easy enough from R$70M weekend, possibly ~R$200M more for ~R$400M final. 1

Inside Out 2 keeps beating expectations with a massive hold after its record opening, beating Incredibles 2 and becoming the highest grossing animated movie of all time on only its second weekend. The result is also better than the second weekend of Endgame (R$65.3M). Compared to it, IO2 is only R$10M behind Endgame on the same period, next weekend and how it will behave against DM4 will be crucial on if IO2 will truly manages to become the best selling movie of all time in Brazil. AQP had the best opening of the franchise and is very close to become the highest grossing horror of the year, what should happen in the next couple of days. Harry Potter is back once more thanks to one more screening and it is tied with IO2 on the average-per-screen. Planet of the Apes on the other hand completely died after last weekend. Next weekend releases Despicable Me 4, Late Night With the Devil, Orlando and Espumas ao Vento. 6
ThatWaluigiDude
Monday: Inside Out 2: R$12.2M/ 735k admissions A Quiet Place Day One: R$1.3M/ 82.9k admissions IO2 once again, just like last week, did more on monday than on thursday and friday. Interesting trend. On admissions it have passed the total of The Ten Commandments and it is now on the top 10 of all time.
ThatWaluigiDude
Is better to make it clear now, the brazilian currency is at its lowest since two years and a half. While this will not affect the local box office, it shall impact Brazil's share on the global box office if situation do not switch soon enough.

I have just found out it’s huge in Brazil, and releases this weekend in Brazil. Any estimate?

So far is a bit bellow Garfield on the same period, surprisingly slow but most likely the release of Inside Out 2 distracted. I haven't seen the pre-release being advertized much. Is it better now. I would expect this movie to see close to release. Below Garfield is bad.
