In local currency it probably can beat Frozen to become the biggest WDAS movie.

Mockingjay Raphael
That's a massive number for Passengers, The Martian opened with $1.8m, while Interstellar did only $1.7m and both movies faced way more favorable ER. The same multiplier of The Martian would bring $15m for Passengers, incredible, I think that's the first country where it overperformed.

There is Russia where it made $15M so far, passing Rogue One and Moana.

It's based off a really popular cable TV show over here. Not sure if you could see from the poster or trailer but the main character is a mother that is actually being played by a guy who based the comical character off his own mother for his TV show. The first movie had real good WOM so it's no surprise that the sequel became this successful.

Fullbuster
@Somoset About these Brazilian movies expected in 2017 and that could be successful : You can find the titles there (and release dates) : http://www.adorocinema.com/noticias/filmes/noticia-126806/ However you need to know Brazilian movies are not huge in Brazil, their share of the Brazilian market goes from 12% to 21% but rarely higher.
