Power Rangers and Split this weekend!! Very excited!!

I think PR should to do $3M-$3.5M

There's no 3D, btw.

Split I think it will do $2M.

That seems a lot for Power Rangers, particularly with the competition from Logan and BATB. But why not?

Logan could suffer a bit because of Split and PR because they're male-driven too. Still, reaching $30m should be possible for Logan.

BATB should hold very well.

As I do every year, even if it's not about Brazil but the world, this is some stats from the MPAA about the global box office in 2016 :)

MPAA 2016 Annual Report: Global Sales Flattened As Chinese Economy Cooled

mpaa-2016-box-office-chart.png?w=605&h=4

Poor Latin American got its first year of decline because of the horrible exchange rates, particularly in Venezuela, Argentina, Brazil and Colombia.

I still think it's weird to put Europe, Middle East and Africa together..That means that Europe is probably declining more than these numbers show given Middle East/Africa are pretty much growing on that front, with a huge potential.

THE GLOBAL BOX OFFICE

2016 was weird : the global BO grew by 1%, slowest growth since 2005. The OS market stagnated while it grew by 2% in North America.

The biggest loser in 2016 was Latin America, because of exchange rates....Decreasing by 18%! From $3.4B to $2.8B! However 2017 should be much better.

The Asia Pacific region grew by 5% thanks to India and Japan, China decreased by 1%.

Europe/Middle East/Africa decreased by 2%.
