wow...what an excellent hold..looks like just a 33% drop from last weekend. I was expecting a bigger drop from last weekend as some parts of Europe still had holidays in the previous week

NWH did $33.4M in it's 5th weekend internationally So Avatar is like 2.75 times higher. Difference I think is NWH had no China but it had Russia and Japan was just in its 2nd weekend as NWH released 3 weeks late in Japan

In IMAX format, Avatar probably dominates the top 2 position.  That IMAX gross in China is so huge, they aren't far behind that of domestic but the total gross is only one-third of domestic.

just "correcting" (assumming Luiz's numbers are correct) for china gets avatar 2 over 1.9 and makes nwh doable by tomorrow, will disney do it? or do they not agree with Luiz's numbers?

Probably over A1 first run with all markets/no issues. Thinking $2.35B right now as it stands. No problems in China you can add at least $300M but maybe upwards of $450-500M. Based on CIS territitories, Russia would probably add an additional $65-75M.

nwh added ~170m OS after its weekend gross of 33m so around 5x multi, that would mean around 440m for A2 but thats best case and harder to pull that multi from a larger number but even still another 250m seems to be the floor and who knows maybe CNY can give movie some kind of boost
