This weekend, Mighty fell -47% in overseas holdover markets, one percentage point milder than its -48% domestic drop.

Mighty has earned $48.2M overseas and $87.0M globally, or 55% from overseas.

For comparison, its 2021 predecessor finished with $104.2M overseas and $144.3M globally, or 72% from overseas.

The sequel’s top five market totals to date are:

  1. China: $13.2M
  2. Germany: $5.2M
  3. Mexico: $4.5M
  4. Australia: $4.1M
  5. Brazil: $1.6M

After taking top-dog status last session, Paramount/Spin Master’s Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie padded in with another solid $14M from 57 overseas markets, down 47% in the holdovers for an $87.1M global tally through Sunday. With 13 more markets opening this session, it’s now out in 64% of the international paw print. 

 

Leading new bows was Brazil at No. 2 with $1.6M from 731 locations, followed by Korea at No. 5 with $355K from 374, Ukraine at No. 1 with $345K at 179, Finland at No. 1 with $340K at 128 and Belgium at a $330K No. 2 from 82.

 

The pups are led overall by China ($13.2M), Germany (where they held No. 1 and have now grossed $5.2M), Mexico ($4.5M), Australia ($4.1M) and Brazil ($1.6M). Also notable, the second weekend in Singapore was up 25% at No. 1 with $550K to date.

 

Markets still to open include the UK, France and Spain next week, and Japan on December 15.

I wonder what is the age demographic ratio for this one’s watchers in cinemas and their percentages?

 

It would explain why this and Saw X can’t help each other much in terms of box office and “Saw Patrol” made no sense because of different age demographics.

Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie - 98% kids, 2% adults if they ever watch this

Saw X - 98% adults, 2% kids if they ever watch this

 

Of course this isn’t literal.

Yeah, that was a non-starter. Neither movie had a pedigree like Gerwig/Nolan that would hype them up in online cinephile circles, and the movies themselves didn't have the same kind of unanimous critical acclaim that might sway disinterested people towards giving them a shot.

It’s earned $76.5M overseas and $126.3M globally, or 60% from overseas.

For comparison, its 2021 predecessor finished with $104.2M overseas and $144.3M globally, or 72% from overseas.

The sequel’s top five market totals to date are:

  1. China: $14.9M
  2. Germany: $6.9M
  3. Mexico: $5.7M
  4. Australia: $4.6M
  5. France: $4.5M

In new openings this session, France bow-wowed to No. 1 with $4.5M at 638 sites. School holidays are coming up from October 23 to November 3. The UK debuted at No. 2 with $4.2M from 618 locations; there are staggered school holidays from Monday to November 3. Poland launched with a No. 1 start of $2.4M from 328 cinemas and Spain was also a No. 1 play with $1.9M from 369.

 

China is the lead market overall at $14.9M (down just 3% from last weekend), followed by Germany at $6.9M (with a -11% hold), Mexico has grossed $5.7M and Australia $4.6M

Paramount/Nickelodeon/Spin Master’s Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie woofed it up again with another $11.7M overseas (-42% hold). The international total is now $92.3M and the worldwide cume is $148.4M.

 

The Top 5 markets to date are: China ($15.8M), Germany ($8.1M), France ($6.4M), Mexico ($6.3M) and UK ($5.6M). Still to come is Japan on December 15.

Paramount/Nickelodeon/Spin Master’s Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie is still woofing it up, now having crossed $100M overseas for $107.2M international and $166.4M worldwide. A $9.7M fifth frame was down just 23%. The movie is out now in nearly all markets with Japan due on December 15. China is top dog with $17.1M, followed by France ($10.8M), Germany ($9M), the UK ($7.4M) and Mexico ($6.6M).

Barking up a great -21% hold, Paramount/Nickelodeon/Spin Master’s Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie added $8M in 67 markets for an overseas cume of $119.7M and $181.7M global. Leading the pups are China ($17.8M), France ($15.3M), Germany ($9.9M), the UK ($8.7M) and Mexico ($6.8M). Up next is Japan on December 15.
