Why do people complain about plot holes/scripting in Multiverse of Madness but not in No Way Home? For every dumb thing in Multiverse of Madness there is an even dumber thing in No Way Home.

NWH handled it's characters far better than MoM did. The multiverse concept inherently requires suspension of disbelief, but whereas the multiverse progressed the character arcs of NWH's characters, MoM ruined Wanda's character and gave Strange nothing to do in his own movie.

I mean I don't disagree that "MoM ruined Wanda's character and gave Strange nothing to do in his own movie" but NWH makes Peter insanely stupid (lol)

Deadpool 3 could be a huge if it's great. But given it's a Shawn Levy-directed Disney multiverse movie, I am not holding my breath.

Eh these are Ryan Reynolds babies. It's not like the first two are greatly directed. Tim Miller did okay with the first one and I am a David Leitch fan but he was there mostly with his action chops to bring the action to another level which it did and a little more style Levy will do just fine.

I like Multiverse of Madness solely because of Sam Raimi's direction but the script is ass. No Way Home has an insanely dumb script too but it gets away with it for 2 big reasons. The characters overall are more likable and compelling and the Three Spider-Men's chemistry is insanely good. Their scenes are great and they are one of the highlights of the entire MCU.

Who is to say a good script can't have plot holes? I feel like it's more about the way everything comes together and how meaningful the dialogue is and how it transcends the viewing experience to above & beyond.

The GA goes fucking insane over multiverse cameos.

This is simply untrue. The only time this has happened was for a Spider Man crossover and the main contention at release was ‘are they even in it, is it just cameos, or are they a major element’.

It was a celebration of Spider-Man across generation.

Random cameos will not save the MCU but kill it. Audiences want character interactions. Variants don’t provide this unless you are promising long term variants or pulling a Wanda in Doctor Strange.

GA don’t give a fuck about the comics and just want a fun time with a story they care about. They cared about Spider-Man because the multiverse angle ties entirely into Peter’s story emotionally. They cared because they have watched these generations of Spider-Man across the generations.

If the GA have a fuck about cameos then The Flash would be on par with Spider-Man.

Doctor Strange 2's $450M global opening without China says otherwise

Well (not to sound like a fanboy) but Flash bombed because the GA only care about multiverse/cameos in cinematic universes that they actually care about. The GA doesn't care about the DCEU at all really.

yeah outside of Wolverine who is the deuteragonist of Deadpool 3 and Xavier and Magneto I think the other x-men cameos are going to fall of deaf ears with the GA like the ending of flash but hopefully better CGI and not desecrating the imagery of dead people

Its a film with two of the most popular current Avengers at that time off the back of End Game and No Way Home. The idea the GA audience cares about variants is just ludicrous.

Cameo hype is what pushed it so high. That part is obvious. People were expecting NWH with Fox-verse characters. A normal Strange-Wanda collab movie would not have had an Avengers level opening.

hey did you know the director of Venom 3 has never directed anything before? not even a TV episode

This is a talent exercise from Sony and Hardy. It makes sense. I don't think you can call the Venom films consistent in their directional tone with the script.

Doctor Strange is popular. . .but he's not "$187M opening weekend" level popular. Cameo hype shot it into the stratosphere. A normal Doctor Strange sequel post-Endgame would open to like $120-130M maybe idk

Him and Wanda are coming off:

Infinity War - 2Bn

End Game - 2.8Bn

No Way Home - 1.9Bn

No one gave a fuck that there might be a Fantastic Four cameo other than 5% of the audience.
