MovieMan89
Hey who knows, maybe it will be Argo 2.0 where if the Academy gets enough heat for the snub they will give Barbie BP to compensate.
Valonqar
1 minute ago, MovieMan89 said: Barbie was absolutely a frontrunner until the academy just decided it wasn’t suddenly. That’s literally the entire point of the outrage No it wasn't. Oppenheimer and Nolan have been frontrunners throughout the season. They lined up more critical awards than several movies combined and then precursors (GG, CC). Gladstone seemed like the frontrunner until it became obvious it was Stone since Venice. Melton was leading critics awards and then the tite turned in RDJs favor. Randolph was so dominant throughout that everyone else was just fighting for 2-5 spots. It's Original script where Barbie and Holdovers had 50/50 shot but Anatomy spoiled it with GG win. It was never the frontrunner.

If certain boxes are unchecked, they’re still gonna be biased as hell nearly two decades removed from TDK
excel1
Margot was great but obviously not Oscar worthy. Her best roles remain I, Tonya and Wolf of Wall Street.

filmlover
Don't think this was mentioned but BCoop did manage another three nominations today (Actor, Screenplay, producer in Picture), bringing his total up to 12. Assuming he isn't winning any of them this year, he might as well embrace the status of becoming known as The Most Nominated Person With No Wins at this point.
AMC Theaters Enjoyer
Cara Jade Myers and Penelope Cruz should have gotten recognized for Best Supporting Actress. That’s all I’ll say rn. mostly pretty chill with the noms though. Edited January 24 by AMC Theaters Enjoyer

AMPAS can't kick the historical icon habit so he got in but that's not enough for a win especailly when your competition is amiable (Giamatti) or chill (Murphy) without signs of thrist. Ofc everyone wants it but BCoop is screaming about it.

Or ya know, do something award worthy. Leo did that many many times and didn’t win, this is not apples to apples comp.
