filmlover
A $100M second weekend after an inflated (thanks to Father's Day) first is wild. This really is shaping to be the equivalent to what Barbie was last year.
cannastop
There seems to be a plateau of around 10 billion minutes a year on Nielsen for streaming Disney movies. Luca hit it, Turning Red hit it, Elemental hit it. Moana is special in that it has the cumulative numbers of a movie that was newly released on streaming. Encanto though was just an exception, making like 2.5 times the other movies its own first year, and now plays second fiddle to Moana. As for Inside Out 2's streaming ratings on Nielsen, I expect it to do maybe a little better than Elemental. We haven't have had a true animated blockbuster released on streaming since Frozen II so it might be interesting to see.

Flopped
It was smart to report it at 100M. All the press it's going to get for staying at 100M+ in its second weekend is likely to convince some people who were on the fence to go see it today. So the headlines may actually be what gets it to 100M. 1 4
rihrey
I'm guessing the actuals will be a bit lower than $100M but it figures they reported that number.

Jiffy
They better steal from Monday to make $100m happen. Regardless, pretty wild to have a better 2nd week hold than the first film. Edited Sunday at 03:42 PM by Jiffy
cannastop
Inside Out 2 is combing blockbuster OW with being a WOM behemoth, which I don't think has been seen in a long long time. Maybe since Top Gun 2?

Been a good run. If only it just squeaked by $100M If only it had been able to open in the 30-35 m range it would have done 100. Still would not have been a hit because of the budget and how terrible it's done OS but it would have been nice. Oh well got to love the legs anyway. Shows the people who did see it enjoyed it.

YM!
My god! IO2 is pulling a Barbie! I’m so happy for Pixar not only do they get the crown back but IO2 being good likely boosts their originals in Elio and the March 26 movie so long as quality is there.
