16:00 Update on revenue:

¥665,102,510

Momentum is lot higher, with excellent drops of critics. If there is Christmas effect at evenings than Demon Slayer Mugen Train OD is going down.

20:00 Update on revenue:

¥883,422,130

Passed EVA OD a big margin!!!!! Already tracking to finish higher than ¥10B!!!

Usual Location Picks:

10:00 : 11:00 : 12:00 : 13:00 : 14:00 : 15:00 : 16:00 : 17:00 : 19:00

Demon Slayer : 122,210 < 149,461 < 179,702 < 210,381 < 229,143 < 274,098 < 316,488 < 352,269 < 490,041

Jujutsu Kaisen : 101,914 < 142,098 < 166,603 < 204,006 < 240,382 < 277,192 < 313,379 < 336,307 < 394,915

Jujutsu Kaisen is at 405,567 (+midnights) at 19:00 Gap has just increased widelyyyyyyy!!!

I have watch the film. It was just amazing!!!. However, a local trends has collapsed that JJK is heading for 1M attendees which looks a way more false but could be sign that rural prefactures are doing welll!!

Usual Location Picks:

10:00 : 11:00 : 12:00 : 13:00 : 14:00 : 15:00 : 16:00 : 17:00 : 19:00 : 21:00

Demon Slayer : 122,210 < 149,461 < 179,702 < 210,381 < 229,143 < 274,098 < 316,488 < 352,269 < 490,041 < 622,495

Jujutsu Kaisen : 101,914 < 142,098 < 166,603 < 204,006 < 240,382 < 277,192 < 313,379 < 336,307 < 394,915 < 472,875

Jujutsu Kaisen is at 483,527 (+midnights) at 21:00 !!! Difference from DS is about 138,968 at usual location however Oricon/TOHO estimated 1M OD in terms of admits. Therefore, I assume that rural prefactures are doing amazing numbers!!! But, God knows how true it's OD gonna be....

Jujutsu Kaisen Movie 0 Opening Day:

¥1,005,345,660 (including 1st/Midnight Shows)

Unlike to miss some figures. I will update if there is any change in the morning.

There seems to be a problem:

Spoiler

Another Source says

OD : ¥1,457,628,720 /1,003,782

Well, it's just impossible but earlier Oricon estimated 1M OD. which is possible only if rural prefactures are overperforming DS. But, I will wait until Studio updates, while mimorin is still adding numbers

That's not an estimation, Toho just said they "aimed for 1 million admissions" since it was technically ahead at 3PM. It's a marketing stunt. It's nowhere near 1 million admissions. 500k at usuals translating into 1M nationwide is not even physically possible.

And Oricon just posted the article based on Toho's declaration. Oricon does not track box office whatsoever.

Yeah, I feels the same way. But, if it's marketing stunt than I am feeling bad about it. Lately, TOHO seems to backlash at socials .

I'm not a fan of this move, but it's whatever. I'm more annoyed by it because JJK did genuinely have a fantastic opening day, so there is no reason to resort to cheap tactics like these. It struck the second biggest opening day, potentially being the second movie to hit 1 billion in a day in the process. And if it missed, it missed by very little.

There is no reason to pull stunts like these with such a result.

What the hell!!

ANN Prequel projected to earn over 10 billion yen this weekend

Distributor TOHO projected on Friday that the Gekijō-ban Jujutsu Kaisen 0 (Jujutsu Kaisen 0 the Movie) anime film sold over 1 million tickets on its opening day, on its way to over 10 billion yen (about US$87 million) projected for the weekend. The announcement was made during the opening-day stage greetings by the cast at TOHO Cinemas Shinjuku in Tokyo.

ANN shortly posted that JJK is projected to earn over ¥10 billion😑

I think 10 billion may very well happen full run, so that's not really much of a problem. The opening day number being "reported" that way is somewhat frustrating, and will make things awkward by the time the actuals are out, but can't really stop it at this point. People will misunderstand, but eventually everything will be corrected on monday, so it's fine.

Earlier, I though that I am away too optimistic with ¥3200M OW, but now TOHO is speaking about ¥10,000M OW, a record that DS took 10 days to cross. No problem if it achieve that massive figure, but what will happen if it does not reach. If I consider ¥10B OW, then it will be ¥15B Week 1 or ¥20B by second weekend, in third weekend, it will be over ¥25B, by 4th Weekend, it will be over ¥30B.

Concluding that it will achieve ¥40B in three months or ¥55B full run if it happens like TOHO expect. Lifting their earlier ¥7B OW to ¥10 OW

¥10B finals is decent while ¥20B is possible with great WOM. However, TOHO forecast ¥10B OW, looks weird!

¥10B OW is laughable and obviously not happening.

Toho's 10 billion "certainty" is full run. There are not enough seats nationwide to even make close to that in its OW. Again, OD is still quite a bit below DS, and weekend will be tremendously behind DS as it won't have the massive increase DS had.

You did not notice my above post.

That's just ANN misquoting an already misleading article.
