baumer
Another Wes Anderson film that does great in limited release, but will probably tank when it goes semi-wide: Exhibitor Relations @ERCboxoffice Wes Anderson's MOONRISE KINGDOM hunted down $175k in just 4 campsites Friday, & is easily on track for his best debut ever. And it seems no one is interested in Intouchables in NA: Exhibitor Relations @ERCboxoffice Weinstein's French import, THE INTOUCHABLES, debuted with a relatively soft $28K yesterday in 4 theatres. C'est la vie.

America missing out on a worldwide phenomenon because they don't know how to read and listen at the same time.

baumer
$7000 per theatre. Is that good? It's fine, but when you compare it to Moonrise's 175K in 4 theaters, it;s not so hot.
acab
Solid numbers for Men in Black 3. Nothing extraordinary but things could be way worse. The budget is still huge though and it will need strong holds or really big OS numbers to be considered a success. But it's obvious that Will Smith still has it. Not many were asking for a third MiB film after ten years and if the budget wasn't as big as it is, it would be a home run.Great numbers fot The Avengers. Some people are going way to far with it. It's already a historic run. Marvel could take it off the theaters today and it would still be a huge hit and a historic run. But sometimes it's good to keep some things grounded. 9.5m for Friday is a really good number, asking for more would be a bit unrealistic. All in all those are ok but completely expected numbers. Even Spiderman 3 went up 123%.
Crusader
See the thing is this is perfectly in line with every other WS blockbuster opening Dude is profitable no doubt but since when did he manage to open a movie over 80 mil ? He's insanely bankable and all studios need to do is control the budget and keep em 150 mil and less and they will see plenty of cash
