TheseDays
Why did the new Petit Nicolau flopped so bad? I thought the first one was well-liked by both the public and the critics
jerem4502
Petit Nicolau decrease, but not a flopped. The summer, french comedy are rarely a success at box office. Why ? I dont' know.

Hunger Games 3 with 2,6 million admissions is better than the second film (2,3 million).

John Marston
hmm that seems disappointing. Hopefully it picks up
peludo
Paris 14h - Admissions The Hobbit - The Desolation of Smaug : 5 154 The Hobbit - The Battle of the Five Armies : 4 718 The Hobbit - An Unexpected Journey : 4 370 The proportion seems similar to the forecast posted in BotFA OS thread. In terms of $, it means a similar opening to AUJ.

peludo
^ Asuming 1.38$/€ last year, 1.24 $/€ for this year and no inflation, it would be a 4% behind DOS in $. So, about a $12.9m opening, 500k lower than DOS. Edited December 11, 2014 by peludo

IndustriousAngel
I have to say I hoped for better numbers from Astérix ... is the movie any good? Looks as if it didn't really connect; even with holiday legs it won't do any spectacular numbers.
jerem4502
Of course, but the best animation films for Astérix was only 2 415 230 admissions in France. So, this Astérix will be the new best success for an Astérix in France. After 3 weeks, Astérix 1 810 209 admissions. After the holiday, Astérix could be between 3 and 4 millions admissions. This is a great success. Paddington is a great competition, but also Pinguins Madagascar.
