Elemental
Better that Jack Reacher. Better than GI Joe 2 weeks ago. And for the Croods, figures are good but not exceptional for this kind of movie.

CJohn
That sounds like a terrible number for Oblivion.
Elemental
"John Carter" did better on the 1st day. Jack Reacher and MI4 were over 110 000. So it is not really good. Still better than GI Joe 2 Edited April 11, 2013 by Elemental
zackzack
But it is a Wednesday right? Should be higher closer to weekend?
zackzack
GIJ2 flopped in FR and UK. All the main bad guys in GI JOE movies are British. I am sure the British did not like to see themselves as comic-book villains. They want to see themselves as James Bond, sexy, virile, lethal. Most films have British bad guys anyway, recently Rise of the Guardians and Star Trek 2 for example.

They want to see themselves as James Bond, sexy, virile, lethal. I think they don't care. By the way I would like more French bad guys, not enough of them

Elemental
It could happen that a release take place on another day than Wesnesday. It was the case also for Cosmopolis, "rust and bones" or "Ice of age 3" also. But generally movie are released on wednesday because chiildren/teen don't have school. It is also a way to ensure that all movies are distributed the whole french territory by friday.
