chasmmi
With a 4 day weekend coming up in 2 weeks time and it being vacation time (which actually thinking about hagwon culture here means that kids have less free time than during term time half the time), Frozen has the chance to do some serious business. I see it breaking $20M as a minimum.
chasmmi
That will translate to around $7M

Sam
Wow, good news for Frozen. Hopefully, it'll get great reception and maybe could develop legs, playing well into Lunar New Year. When will that be by the way? End of Jan/beginning of Feb, right? Sam
Jan.31 will the start of a new Lunar year. Thanks Olive. It's hard to keep track of Lunar calendar here most of the time, but I remember it's running 1 month behind Gregorian calendar at the moment.Awesome, I can't wait to get stuffed, wasted and lots of red envelopes at my family's New Year celebration then

Sam
Yeah, only half a month left.Holiday begins next week, so happy. You'll have a good one, Olive :)Here in US, mostly it's just one-day event (for my family that is, cause other highly-populated Asians regions like Orange County, CA or Houston, TX has longer and more elaborated celebrations I heard)

yjs
Wait, how come 'About Time' did blockbuster numbers here? Koreans love Richard Curtis (Love Actually got re-released this Christmas season) and good schmaltzy films and it ended up going viral, kinda. just went really popular. yjs
By the way, I really despise all the Nut Job promotions linked to Psy and Gangnam Style. Is Psy actually in the movie or what? not that tacky nationalistic D-War kind of promotions again, please. I even read some stupid tweets like "If you are Korean, go see the Nut Job instead of Frozen". If it tanks in the states (and it will, obviously) I can see some people in Korea go how Americans are exclusive and blah blah. People should get it's not like we're supposed to "invade" American market or any market for that matter. Just make good movies and the world will appreciate them without us trying too hard promoting them with a dated Psy song.
