Wow, thats great jump for AoU. Safe to say it's following IM3 rather than TA1 in presales.

What's the highest presales for a movie? Is it IM3?

Probably Roaring Currents from last year had the biggest presales. It reached a peak of 564,787 tickets presold during midnight Friday of it's opening week that led to a 4-day opening of 4.77 million admissions and $35.5 million gross.

I doubt AoU will be matching that though :)

Roaring Currents was BO monster. Hopefully, TA2 can hit 10M+ admissions.

Roaring Currents was just crazy. Amazing run it was for sure. Didn't it take like Top 5 or 6 biggest BO days of all time.

Yup top 5 days and 4 of them were over 1 million admissions.

Is 13K much 10 days before release?

Pretty much. Movies don't usually have this much in presales this early before release. Having said that the increases right before release will be more telling.

Bong Joon Ho, the director behind the ecological horror film "The Host" and the internationally acclaimed science fiction film "Snowpiercer" is planning to set his next film at least partially in the U.S.

During a recent interview with Twitchfilm, he talked about his next project, a film with the working title of "Okja."

The film will be set in New York and Korea. The film's dialogue will be partially in English will but mostly be in Korean.

Yes and early signs are there that it's going to breakout. Question is to what level.

This and China need to do big business to make up for declines in Japan and Australia and some other markets and stagnation in uk Brazil mexico russia

Mexico should be fine ;)

Why do you think that in Japan it will decline? IM3, CA2 and Thor 2 all increased over the previousm ovies, an increase for TA2 is not out of question.

Good news for AoU in Korea, it doesn't have anything that looks like serious competition leading up to it's release and also for a couple of weeks after. Evidently no studio wants to go up against it. I think it could set a new record for screens during its OW.
