They both have decent ps (but nothing great or amazing). They should hurt it someone what and I think the biggest factor will be their WoM. If one of the movie gets great WoM it might take some of the wind out of TGM sails.

 

Btw midday update, CGV will be down almost 10% from last week for TGM, combine this with the lower CGV ratio's this week and we probably get a drop over 10% , thinking something of 295k down 12% from last week, or maybe a bit weaker.

 

Af for Thor is looking like 185k today an increase of 121% from friday and down 64% from last week. Maybe it has a strong evening and it holds a bit better or if CGV ratio goes back to normal it might drop closer to 68%.

It's insane that Thor will miss 3m admits in SK which is the market most love Mavrel film.

TGM wil see a nice jump on tuesday (like it did just before Thor opened) but both openers are looking very healthy and TGM will take a similar hit as vs thor would be my guess. Maybe a bit less cause minions shoudn't be to direct compettion.

 

Thor will hold close to flat, probably single digit decrease tomorrow but wednesday is probably looking ugly.

This was expect the day before high profile new movies get released people rush to see the old ones. Thor also saw a soft decrease because of this.

 

Looking at tomorrow TGM CGV starts a rougly 6.5k CGV vs 21k yesterday (down more than 60%). Walkups won't drop by that much obviously and cgv ratio will go up. I am thinking a 26k ish finish and rougly down 42% from tuesday) and 40% from last week. If cgv ratio goes crazy like with the release of Thor it might be closer to a 37% drop.

 

Thor is looking at a ugly drop, think CGV will only end up around 10k  CGV good for 21.5k ish admisison or a 45% drop. Might do better if CGV goes crazy but I mean walk ups migt be terrible tomorrow so who knows.

Both the local movie and Minions have a shot at over 150k OD. This would be very good for minions, for the local movie walk ups might be better so I think 150k is very doable and I am hoping for 180k (woudn't say 200k is outside the realm of possiblities).

This might sound the end for TGM I think, if opens over 3m it would lock TGM out of 9m contention. That said 8m should still be doable I think. Specialy cause the new release don't have the best WoM.

 

I am actualy hopping to see a crazy OW (although presales don't suggest a super heavy rush).

Also minion could open to 1.3m OW that would be good for a shot at 3m (probably not if Hasan:RD has a strong OW.) still great for the animation movie.
