A Marvel Fanboy
FF6 is going to be exclusively released in IMAX 3D in one of China's biggest theater chain (Wanda Cinemas); everywhere else in the world will only get IMAX 2D. Mattrek
FF6 isn't in 3D, I'm confused. Also wow to the predictions in this thread, the attendance would have to double for that to happen since there's no 3D boost. I think you guys are setting yourself up for disappointment. Olive
It's already quite big without 3D.
Mattrek
It's already quite big without 3D.Yeah, but you guys are expecting attendance to double from the previous installment. I agree it'll have a big jump, but that's just way too high.
Fullbuster
Yeah, I have the feeling people are too optimistic about it.
Bob Violence
So they're doing a 3D conversion that will show in one theater chain in one country, and even then only on IMAX screens? Yeah, I'm sure that's not going to be shitty and thrown together. Even 3D conversions that get worldwide releases are usually pretty bad. The upshot is it'll be really easy to avoid the 3D version and find a 2D screening, which is normally difficult here (at least in this city). Ent
I see it reaching $650+ 700 millions overseas. A 50 % rise from F5 due to universal popularity in each continent and in each traditionally big markets which can be translate the same way to the expanding markets. If F5 was able to have great numbers (20+ millions) in France, germany, Australia, Uk, Russia, Mexico, Brasil and with great numbers like 15+ millions in average size markets like Italy and Spain, then it shows that this movie has tremendous universal popularity in each and every market. there is no single market where it underperform. It shows that it can grow even more in a lot of markets undistinctibly. Edited May 18, 2013 by Ent

Yeah, Wanda cinemas will have FF6 in IMAX 3D (that will be around 70+ screens) and regular 2D while other theaters will have it in IMAX 2D and regular 2D. I am guessing its because Wanda want it in IMAX 3D and maybe they are funding the 3D conversion ? ... Many audience in China instinctively thinks IMAX = IMAX 3D. I have seen a lot people get surprised like when they are told an IMAX film is not 3D.
Lordmandeep
I see 500-550 million overseas. In most markets its the big film after Im3. Edited May 10, 2013 by Lordmandeep
