Frozen OS thread

Recommended Posts

Last weekend Frozen also opened in Turkey 177,255 tickets sold $950,000 (DM2 did $0.8 M./$3.9 M. Opening/Total)

So, just following DM2's pattern there would be another 3.5m or so from Turkey, and it could still perform better. More than I would have thought from there.

Exactly! The successes in the US and many other countries will also help. And that epic Japanese trailer is easily the best of all Frozen trailers. I've watched it again and again just to relive the movie. :D

First to get a trailer, last one to get the movie. Sucks to live there lol

So does it have a pretty strong chance of beating DM2 WW as well?

Domestic is all but guaranteed, WW could end up being a photo finish. It is looking like DM2 is going to be in the 970-980 range, depending how it continues to hold in China.

Frozen looks like around 970 if Japan and China play out as most of us are predicting (30 for China, 50 for Japan), but could go higher if 1 or both of those break out.

Remaining markets + N.A.     $120M

China                                      $ 30M

Japan                                      $ 90M

Current WW                            $765M

Total WW                                 $1.05B

Doable!

The singalong expansion that we're getting in the US could have an effect, here. Before it, most were looking at about 50 million more stateside, but it could add enough to push the film past 400.

Beating DM2 wouldn't require it to hit 600 OS, in such a case.

I wonder if the singalong is going to show up in any other countries/languages.

Only if it really will do that good in Japan. I surely hope so, Frozen been getting a lot of a good word of mouth and surely japanese are interested in seeing it.

So is it expected to increase this weekend? If it does than 5M admissions are possible.

It'll be 2.9M + by the end of Sunday, with New years holiday next week.

5M is a sure thing, buddy.

What about 6M admissions or 50M dollars? WOM seems to be out of this world so those numbers seem possible. I now fully expect 50M+ from Japan as well.  :D

6M is possible but 50M no, ticket price is cheap in SK.
