hasanahmad
Friday screenings are already sold out. You will see some family audience drop off on Saturday/Sunday. It's Sat/Sun won't match TA's Sat/Sun.Ur saying just because they have paid 10 bucks for the ticket they will risk their lives but not go on Saturday because their lives will e at risk ?? redfirebird2008
In Colorado, perhaps. Nearly everybody else is going to go and if people are going today and tonight, they'll go tomorrow and Sunday. I see no reason this would cause it to experience bigger than normal drops during the weekend. If TV ads have no impact, then why do the studios always run them? Losing those ads will hurt, no doubt about it.
RichWS
If TV ads have no impact, then why do the studios always run them? Losing those ads will hurt, no doubt about it.Why? It's opening day. If you were going to see the movie this weekend then you know the movie is out.
MrPink
If TV ads have no impact, then why do the studios always run them? Losing those ads will hurt, no doubt about it.Depends from what angle you speak from. In terms of pure awareness, I'd say the news making the rounds is doing that more than the ads possibly could. In terms of being an incentive to see the movie, yeah, it hurts. Edited July 20, 2012 by MrPink
Cedarpoint1111
Losing the ads might hurt, but honestly, who doesn't know batman opened this weekend? If they didn't know before, they sure as hell do now.
Gideon
We thought this movie will set unprecedent records but it seems it will maybe set new attending movies conditions.
GiantCALBears
The fact that more people will see this than any other movie in history OW is crazy after TDK. $180m is happening

MovieMan89
Oh man, one of my friends who I went to the midnight screening of DH2 with last year at the Century 16 theater where the shooting took place has just reminded me that we were indeed in theater 9, the very theater where the shooting happened. I feel sick.

Dementeleus
Low 80s would be somewhat disappointing, though completely understandable given the horrific circumstances.High 80s would actually be pretty great, honestly.

Sims
High 80s Friday would be very good. We'll never know what it could have done without this twist of fate, though. 100M could have arguably been feasible.
