Dick or not, he doesn't strike me as someone who would do this sort of thing as a PR stunt since he openly disdains that aspect of his job. And if they were happy to see him, what's the difference?

He might be a dick but have 12 died and 58 injured many of them fans of you going to see the movie you are in midnight. This will still still effect you. Bale is human when people die he still feels sorry for them.

There is a difference between being a dick and showing no empathy towards anyone, even those gunned down at a movie premiere that your starred in.With that said I must admit my first thought on hearing this news was 'havn't those guys suffered enough already!?!'
