parkerthegreat
So with Deadpool inevitably crossing $100 million for its OW, and most likely with August seeing $100+ OW for GOTG2 or SS, that only leaves January, September, and October with monthly records under $100 million for OWs: January American Sniper $89.3 mil September Hotel Transylvania 2 $47ish mil October Gravity $55 mil Which month will be the last to have a $100 mil opener? Impact
September. January will be a while also. October I could see in 5-10 years. Edit: Also Galaxy 2 is not in August.
Impact
For the rest of the year: March: 95% chance-BVS should easily break this. (no such thing as a 100% lock though) April: 0% chance-Unless if the Jungle Book is somehow a HUGE breakout... May: 20% chance-highly unlikely, but who knows maybe Captain 3 could do it. Though I wouldn't bet on it. June: 0% chance-had JW not come out last year I would say Dory had a chance. July: 5% chance-Star Trek has next to no chance of breaking this, but never say never! August: 25% chance-Suicide Squad has somewhat of a chance, but too early to tell! September: 0%-nope. Nada. October: 0%-No Martian type film that looks to come close to Gravity. Other than Underworld (yeah that will really break it!) and Ouiji 2 (sure why not) and also Jack Reacher (sure it should do good, but not a record breaker) November: 0%-Unless if Dr. Strange is the next Iron Man, wait... December: 100%-Wait who am I kidding

grim22
The second oldest monthly record just fell. Oldest monthly record existing now is Harry Potter 7-2 for July which was set in 2011.
