The Toymaker
The Expendables 2 RT 66% Audience 74% Perks RT 86% Audience 95% Both fresh. TE2 grossed $300m worldwide. Perks grossed less than $10m worldwide. Perks is not that far ahead of TE2 to suggest that it will be remembered forever, and TE2 is not so low that it's an embarrassment and will be forgotten. People enjoyed both movies, but only TE2 has something to show for it. Not only that but TE2 will be remembered for having the greatest action stars ever all in one film. Perks is simply another adaptation story about teenagers. No hook.

Nobody but losers like you will remember TE2, while Perks will be a cult hit that people will watch in 20 years, younger generations won't care about Grumpy Old Men
bk03
And btw you haven't even seen Perks so you have no room to talk, it's not another Twilight type film. TE2 is barely above a DTV action movie

TE2 is barely above a DTV action movie You said it's a fact that Stallone can't act. Oh, and movies that are barely above DTV do not make $300m worldwide. DTV movies make less than $10m worldwide. Wait a minute, what did Perks make?
iceroll
Perks just started its run, granted it still won't make as much as TE2 WW but to discount it now is kind of silly. Of course the franchise action film with gaggles of 80s action stars would gross more than the indie drama with no A-list actors.

John Marston
What is Perks , seriously? a movie that will make about 20m total and be forgotten about in a month.
iceroll
Also plenty of movies that did poorly at the box office and had great reception were not quickly forgotten. Look at The Hurt Locker, 17m DOM and 49m WW but it won a bunch of Oscars. Perks could be nominated for a few too.

Deep Wang
The Shawshank Redemption - $28m. The Princess Bride - $30mA Christmas Story - $20mThere are plenty of examples of movies that didn't catch a break when it was released, but are now considered classics. These are just a few and I guarantee plenty of people give lots of shit about them. A Marvel Fanboy
The Hurt Locker would be forgotten by now if it didnt steal the Academy Awards from AVATAR. (And for that only, I remember it).
