But from a purely horror standpoint, imo, V is really well done. It's suspenseful, has a likable cast of charcters and has some really good kills. I just wouldn't give it as high as 9, probably closer to an 8 for me. I like the idea of where they were going with the series by "replacing" Jason with another disturbed individual to carry on the legacy. Basically what Halloween was trying to do with part 3 by showing the series was just about the holiday not Michael MyersI think people just were used to and enjoyed the actual Jason so much that it contributed to them having a lesser opinion of V. One of the big three classic Slasher franchises, the other two being Halloween and A Nightmare on Elm Street, ofcourse! I'd rank this second from those 3.
