It wasn't exactly Jonah Hex.  It was  $200m movie that they meant to have sequels in an an attempt for WB to finally get past just making Batman and Superman films as their large budget comic films.  If it had succeeded does anyone doubt that it's a series that would have also lead into JL?  Instead it was DOA.

Only 12% Saturday increase ... even Spectre, which had considerably toxic WOM and terrible legs, increased 30%,  nearly tripling BVS Sat bump in percentage ...

Theres 4 new releases next weekend. Would it still lose a massive amount of screens regardless? Is this really fair to Hollywood movies?

No, movie with good WOM can hold screens. Zoo is perfect example of that.

If it has good WOM, it can hold better on weekdays, it can suffer soft screen loss.And if some of the new releases under-perform, it can regain some screens.

 

Foreign movies are always the weak side when competing with local movies.

Well add this to the list of DC movies that hasn't really done well. TDKR was destroyed for other reasons, mainly scheduling, but WB can't catch a break with DC movies in China.

From Zoo and BvS,we can see the public praise now could be shown for a movie on next day,not next week...

 

Zoo’s first Sat. grew 166% because people love it.BvS just grew 10% because people don’t(douban's score of BvS is 6.8 now).

 

My prediction of BvS OW was 70M+,no matter how bad it could be…how wrong...
