WOW for mermaid. it's run has been just crazy. it should be over 1.4b by saturday and if it holds 30% screens on sunday it will make 200m on sunday/monday as well. That locks up 1.8B in 8 days with another week of holiday run(at least schools). So could be at 2.4B after next sunday with open run ahead !!!!.

Macau3 and MK2 are falling gast. tomorrow they will be 1/3 of mermaid at this rate !!!. not sure if either of them would gross 1B.

Not sure about where panda is heading. but it has recovered well especially with show count.

So is MERMAID locked to beat FF7?

And is KFP3 beating MONEY KING?

I wouldn't say lock but pretty close. It could hit 3B maybe even 3.5B as it seems have great WOM. Also, Monster Hunt has the Chinese record not FF7. With the screen retention KFP3 has a shot at animation record.

KFP2 grossed about 4.4% of the yearly box office in 2011. Box office has been growing around 50% each year, so I'd say 2016 is heading towards $10 billion. Based on that, KFP2's performance would be equivalent to more than $400 million in 2016.

Indeed, no other way to slice it but all the effort put into KFP3 had everyone thinking 2B low side prior to the release, SMH, this is pretty bad result for the people at DW.

LOL. it's a phrase acronym not a movie.

To Be Honest.

Panda on pace to bump again today

Total BO looking to drop a little steeper 5-10%

The new releases on Sunday have little presales. 2 of them under performing their show % which a bad sign, they usually are much greater than holdovers.

They have 30% show share total.   Will probably have just 20% come sunday. Most of those shows will come from TMK2 and Mac3.  Panda near 7% shows tomorrow. Will probably retain at least 6% on Sunday and continue to make close to 20m. 1B and the all time toon record possible depending on next Thursdays show count

Whew, I was losing sleep trying to figure it out, thanks!  What happened to IMO or IMHO?

IMO was canceled along with LOL2. Miley sucked in the LOL. She'll try to make a come back in WTF though! Movie is about being naked on construction equiptment. Should be a hit.

No prisoners, any prediction for today? Looking at Maoyan, same pattern continues. Mermaid with another great hold while TMK2 and Macau3 continue to collapse while KFP3 with another bump from yesterday.

He is probably playing the market. Such exciting times :)

You're both right. Mermaid looking at a small drop. The other 2 continue steeper decline. KFP3 added 15% more shows from 6.2% to 7.2% but looks like it will barely bump at all. The numbers stop at 6pm. I know its not the type to play late, but it would be nice if it could get some 6-8pm shows.

Oil is crazy. 10% moves all over the place. Been playing long and short. Went long early yesterday and was down 2%, almost kicked position into new 13 year lows. then Saudi Arabia announced cuts. POP! Short squeeze! Up 6% and counting off the lows. Looking for an immediate 10-15% bounce thru today.

2PM update: (Yesterday's 2PM figures in brackets)

Mermaid: 139.6M (150.5M)

TMK2: 48.7M (56.1M)

Macau 3: 42.7M (54.4M)

KFP3: 18.8M (18.5M)

The drop trends for various movies continue..... but the multiplier from 2PM has been increasing since Tuesday, so Mermaid should do another 240M today.

TMK2 should overtake Macau 3 today.
