If they choose Kris Wu,it's not that he promoting the Hollywood films.it's Hollywood brand promoting himself. He didn't have any international influence, except some EXO fans.SW7 and BvS will prove it useless to have young idols to promote Hollywood films

How is Monday looking like? 70% drop. Even that drop would give it an awesome $7 million day. But I don't want to give my hopes up so I'll say it will do $5 million

Things are super slow so far. 11.42M but since it's Monday things should pickup from afternon towards evening meaning 5M should happen.

Monday should around 37m, 75~% drop.

That's expected as the WOM has already kicked in. In other words, last week's crazy sub 50% Monday hold was almost entirely due to the rapid spreading of WOM and now that it has blown up, it will boast more reasonable numbers. I'm hoping for strong evenings today.

useless and ridiculous.

SW and DC fans both are angry about Disney,WB.

I'd rather choose Li Bingbing or Fan Bingbing. They did help some promotion in TF4 and DoFP.

Li yifeng and Chinese Justin Bieber or something is useless.

Nah, females casted in Hollywood productions are known as Vase. You can see in X men days of future past and Iron Man 3, both earned money in China because of quality, regardless of Fan Bing Bing's appearance. And look at Fan Bing Bing's BO results for her past 2 films, she needs more help from hollywood than Hollywood needs from her.
But they Hollywood should definitely cast big names like Donnie Yen, Stephen Chow, Jet Li, Jiang Wen etc (Jackie Chan pretty much killed himself because of his stye, he cannot really fit into a big budgetted franchise imo, it will look silly) instead of those teenage young pretty boys IMO, both for their own films' quality and also as mentioned numerous times... Online Buzz in China doesn't neccessary translate to Box Office, it is the walk-ups that really counts.. fans cannot support BO on their own.

Nice IPman 3 became a huge hit.

I think the first one is the best and a very well made powerful film and is one of the most popular martial arts movies in the west of the past decade.

The other 2 are just fun and entertaining in comparison.

800m Yuan (realistic Estimation) is definitely huge, among fraud allegations and Bluray piracy EVERYWHERE and Dvds being sold in almost every departmental store... 800M Yuan is actually a huge success, already earned more than most superhero films in China. It is because of Zootopia's explosion that people seem to forget how big a success this already is.
Honestly many were expecting 500 - 600m yuan, at most 700m yuan.. And then after opening weekend, everyone thought 1billion yuan and then came the fraud allegations and Bluray piracy which pretty much killed its legs despite an above average WOM... not forgetting how Zootopia's WOM overshadowed it... so 800m yuan is definitely a success in view of its current circumstances. I mean it would easily cross 1billion yuan if opened on CNY but I am not complaining about 800m yuan, stll a big success, easily the best Kung Fu Trilogy in the past decade from HK/China.
Edit: The only possible regret is this, Ip Man was an underdog that scored 12th in 2008's China BO. Ip Man 2 came up against Iron Man 2 and beat it squarely, ending up 7th in 2010's China BO. Ip Man 3 would probably not be in the top 10 of 2016, perhaps not even in top 20. =(  But Ip Man 3 is top 10 of 2015 in most markets with wide releases including Malaysia, Hong Kong, Singapore beating the likes of Ant Man and Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation and even compable to SW7... Not bad.

1400

ZOO at 16.7m. Should come in around 33m down 77.5% from sunday. Typical for a toon.

It'll be down 22% from last thursday.  A typical Thursday to Monday drop is 33%.

It's important for it to hold better than-10% for the dailies to stay in course for -38% for this weekend and 1.5b total.

Here is -8% midweek holds and +70/+140/-20% for FSS.

M  33m

T   30.3

W  27.9

T   25..6

F   43

S   104

S    84

China gonna top them soon & they still do that. I heard there are three Chinese actors were invited as cameo in Civil War. Fanfan turned it down.

Btw, another good news for Fanfan, he will join Leng Chu Wei (little Tony) in Paris Raider (filming this March). It's like many big projects are in his hand. Galaxy is unstopable.

I didn't know that. That's great news. He keeps getting to work with such big names.

I would argue the contrary. Hollywood does a bad job of promoting Asian actors and cameos don't benefit the actors in any way.

I mean, even female is better choice for promoting Hollywood films,if female a little help, those young idols are useless.

12:30 box office already surpasses same time data last Monday

Box office was still growing last Monday due WOM wave. Drop was expecting to be little to none compared to last Mondays 36m. The more important comparison is to thursday. Looking to be 36m or higher now. Just a 10-15% drop from thursday. Good number. Pre-sales are tracking pretty tight to yesterday,  tomorrow should be a good hold.
