That's how it is, there is nothing we can do about it. By the way, at the time when WW2 came out, was there any competition ?

Gavin Feng
Wolf Warrior 2 faced many many competitions. At the very beginning, few people in industry believed it could win over The Founding of an Army, which opened on the same weekend. But WW2 did best opening ever for a local movie. On the next weekend, Alibaba Pictures released their fantasy-romance blockbuster Once Upon a Time. Although the movie sucked, it was a period that YA movies and young idols enjoyed their best time for milking those under 25. With great marketing and distribution, it was supposed to top ¥1,000M lifetime. But Wolf Warrior 2 kept ruling the market with nearly ¥1,100M on its second weekend. On the third weekend, Wolf Warrior 2 still hold NO.1 though three major local titles opened. On the fourth weekend, it won again after new movie Paradox topped THU & FRI. First HLW title in later AUG Valerian came on WW2's fifth weekend. Dunkirk actioned on the sixth weekend. Homecoming, War for the Planet of Apes were on board on the seventh and eighth weekend.

LPLC
Thank you for your answers. I wonder which film will have the most admissions in the end between Hi, Mom and TBALC. It will be tight just as it will be tight with WW2 for income.
exomassey
Sorry I haven’t been paying attention but how does Venom 2 not have a release date yet? I understand Shang Chi and Eternals not getting a release but Venom hasn’t got one yet even after the first one was a big hit there. What’s up? Gavin Feng
Good news is there is still no major title in the first two weeks of November. NTTD can try longer run as long as WOM is not so bad.
