Because now they can click the "buy" button for tickets instead of the WTS button lol. Same thing happened with Endgame.

yeah but endgame wasnt running that far ahead of avatar t-10 days before release, similar gain each day, how did the paths diverge?

A2 had about 450K on the WTS for years because it's been in limbo for so long, so in actuality it should probably only be in the 900-950K range which makes the slowdown more understandable from a % standpoint.

As for the high end, it's really hard to tell. Right now, 60% of theaters are open. Hopefully we get up to 70% by opening day. Lets say $400M was the max if everything was totally normal and open. If we just go by the most basic math and say 70% of 400 = 280 then maybe $280M is the max right now? Not really sure.

It may still hit 900M to 1billion in China regardless. Keeping fingers crossed.

Nero you obviously having been looking at folks posting from China and seeing how 98% of the market is showing Avatar. LOl

 

Very possible 850-900M USD in China alone  or more  will happen brother. In fact some of the 900-1.4B predicts are coming from our Asian brothers on Youtube and Reddit.
