I don't think "22 Jump Street" will do well in China even it get a release date as most of the Chinese don't like this kind of film.

Vicious cycle, the approvers only getting loud, exploding special effects movie and the rest of Hollywood's genres left untouched.  If they found a way to do limited releases (meaning a radical change in distribution patterns and strategies as well as the annual quota), more movies will find audiences in China.

Well the sequel is guaranteed to cross $100M+ in China just out of China's market growth alone. If the sequel comes out in 2018, $150M would be easily be done. The Chinese market will be 70-80% of what the U.S market is now, maybe even more.

It's more satisfying on a purely visual level, nevermind the story. Godzilla just doesn't deliver the monster goodness the way PR did.

 

i wish they don't waste whatever good will left from the film and get a better writing team for the sequel. Godzilla looks awesome as depicted in the film.

On the other hand, EOT looks to finish with over 380m.
