A 20-year-old man is accused of buying assault rifles and more than 400 rounds of ammunition in a plot to commit mass murder at a Twilight screening and a Missouri Walmart.

Blaec Lammers' plot was foiled because his mother alerted police, according to court documents.

The woman told police her son had bought weapons similar to those used by a gunman inside an Aurora, CO, movie theater showing the premiere of the latest Batman movie. Twelve people died and 58 were injured in Colorado.

No, people who actually care (like us) will simply note that the OW number includes grosses from Thursday night previews. I mean, if you really want to split hairs, why is Friday considered part of the weekend? And it will be. Watch all the other studios follow suit. This is a general trend in the industry, it's not like Summit is surprising people here.edit: I'm sure this article was totally discussed and dissected here when it came out (I was taking a hiatus from BOT so I don't know), but:http://www.hollywood...shooting-382873The industry is self-policing in this regard. If it becomes standard, then it becomes standard.

As that article points out though, it's more of a reaction to the Aurora shooting than anything else. And really, there's no evidence so far to suggest that 10pm showtimes are adding anything to weekend grosses. PA4 had more or less the same ratio to midnights as the third (despite far lower grosses), and now BD2 has done just 150k better than BD1. And even in regards to the Aurora effect, what is there to suggest midnight grosses have tanked? Resident Evil did better than the last one, but ended up with a weekend total $5m lower. That said, I'm sure Hollywood would love to "move the clock back" for more records. But unless we a drastically different performance today and the weekend, I don't think it'll become the norm once this supposed taboo from Aurora fully wears off.

I think you're confusing Thurs previews and midnights. Thurs previews are always separated however mids are lumped into Friday since they are technically Friday. I can't remember an instance that BOM didn't get the pre midnight numbers separate from the post midnight numbers. Pretty sure this is a first. At least for a big film like this.

I'm specifically talking about the recent trend in 10pm showings since Aurora.

Or just better gun control.

Gun control is tricky. There will always be people who shouldn't have guns regardless of Gun control or not. But if someone goes to rob your house with a gun, now because of gun control, you don't have anything to defend yourself with. Unless you can pull off Matrix type maneuvers. Edited by iTz ReaLLy ED
