Under The Dome on CBS from Steven Spielberg & Stephen King

CBS has commissioned a straight to series 13 part season of Under the Dome. Based on the book by Stephen King. The first episode is to be directed by TGWTDT director Niels Arden Oplev. He previously directed the pilot for Unforgettable and 2 further episodes. Under the Dome is a 13 episode summer series based on the stellar (IMO) thriller/horror novel by Stephen King.  I am reading it right now for the 2nd time and I very much want this to turn out good.  I know the script deviates a bit from the novel so I'm a little nervous that the powers that be will screw this up somehow.  ha ha

I really enjoyed this book. However, I'll be more forgiving on deviations from the novel on this project than I would be whenever they get around to the miniseries for 11/22/63.  Regardless, I don't think King's work translates all that well unless Darabont has a finger in it.

At least I don't think Mick Garris has anything to do with this. He is responsible for the worst King adaptations (The Bag of Bones, Desperation, Sleepwalkers, the TV miniseries remake of The Shining).

It was okay. The story threads it starts are somwhat intriguing but it definitely could have been better. Lefevre now kind of looks like crap and she isn't even that old. Robertson is a miscast. She may be 23 but looks about 15.

the show had a lot of interesting story line's and it feels like the acting was a little weak. I really like the idea of a conspiracy with the town hall stocking up on propane tanks. I will be back to watch next week.

Isn't she supposed to be playing a teenager?  You'll have to excuse me, since I didn't watch last night, but it is ON DEMAND, so I'll get to it eventually.  I just read something about King thinking about writing an episode if it gets picked up for another season.  Was Dean Norris his awesome, totally badass self?
