CoolioD1
Tree of Life was getting delayed so much that I remember people putting it on their predictions for like, 3 years.
Impact
Ha ha. I remember that everyone was getting Revolution Road and Reservation Road mixed up. Heck some even had "No Reservations" due to them thinking it was another film. Of course I did put one year "I know this much-a sound film will win"

Impact
How about how due to Hugo's really misleading and terrible trailers tons of people (including me) thought it had no chance. (I thought it was a really odd fantasy sci-fi due to that) I also remember saying Hurt Locker had no chance of being nominated since it came out so early in the year and was not even wide. Whats a funny one you said Coolio?
CoolioD1
How about earlier in this thread... All I know is that Monuments Men, Nebraska and Gravity will be nominated. Except not that last one. Urh...

Ezen Baklattan
I have a sinking feeling that August: Osage County could be this year's Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close.

eXtacy
For those worried that Gravity wont be as good on the small screen at home I can honestly say that it is not true. I just watched it and enjoyed it at home as much as I did in the cinema. Just make sure its dark and the sound system loud!
AniNate
I guess while we're talking about early predictions, some early 2014 guesses of mine: Boyhood - Richard Linklater (Sure to be his consolation nom after Before Midnight is shamefully snubbed) Far from the Madding Crowd - Thomas Vinterberg Get On Up - Tate Taylor Gone Girl - David Fincher Interstellar - Christopher Nolan Jane Got a Gun - Gavin O'Connor Magic in the Moonlight - Woody Allen (He's hit or miss, but since his last film was a hit I'm putting this on) Noah - Darren Aronofsky The Search - Michel Hazanavicius Wild - Jean-Marc Vallee How to Train Your Dragon 2/Muppets Most Wanted - dark horse family entries Edited January 9, 2014 by tribefan695
CoolioD1
AV Club are doing a feature on films that should be considered for Oscars, but won't be. Their first article is one I very much agree with on the production design of The Conjuring http://www.avclub.com/article/the-conjurings-greatest-triumph-may-be-its-product-200754
Jack Nevada
Does DBC have a chance of bumping either Philomena or Mr. Banks off the list?
CoolioD1
It's in my predictions. I don't want it to be, but there it is.

stripe
12 Years a Slave (it has a legion of supporters) Gravity (the blockbuster) Captain Phillips (classy Academy voters going to support this) American Hustle (the quality December hit spot) Nebraska (a lot of #1 votes for the indie supporters, part 2) Wolf of Wall Street (despite my initial doubts, with all this precursors, it's in) Her (a lot of #1 votes for the indie supporters) Saving Mr Banks (classy Academy voters going to support this, part 2) Philomena (surprisingly in thanks to Weinstein factor + catchy emotional story) Fighting for 10th Dallas Buyers Club (don't feel so confident about this) Inside Llewyn Davies (indie's supporting other options with #1) The Butler (lack of #1 votes) Blue Jasmine What I would love to see getting in? Rush and All is lost. My last update.
