cookie
But those recent times were nothing compared to the time Disney was really big... The time Walt Disney collected Oscars without end and so on and wrote movie history. Was it though? Both Pinocchio and Bambi bombed during their initial releases and the films during the 50s-early 60s era didn't do that well either. They only became huge thanks to re-releases and home video. tommycruise
Some of the reviews say BRAVE is the animated film to beat this award season. Well I guess, "the film to beat" is something "just OK". Well the only other films it has to beat are the Lorax, Madagascar 3 and Ice Age 4, and with weak competition like that it should be pretty easy. Mayhem2x3
This Cars 2 stuff is such nonsense. People can't even wait to see how Brave performs, they're already making excuses in case it doesn't break 300m (which only one previous Pixar original has). If I remember right, Disney had some more movies... The fact Disney had flops like Fantasia and so on is nothing new.
AniNate
Yeah, MADAGASCAR: EMW got great reviews because their standard for DW movies had been so low "funny and colorful" is now great. Madagascar's reviews weren't that great. I still expect Brave to finish comfortably above them.

fishstick
For Pixar: not great = miss Indiwire`s Anne Thompson gave it a B. That translates to Bad in Pixar slang.
Fakhir
The best Pixar film since Wall e is called How to Train your Dragon. A true classic. Yeah, HTTYD was great. Even though i knew toy story will win at Oscars i was still rooting for HTTYD.

You forgot Wreck-It Ralph and Rise of the Guardians. At least one has a chance to give Brave competition.

The Futurist
HTTYD belongs to DWA ... Didn't you notice the in my previous post ? I was implying that HTTYD was the first Dreamworks Animation film on par with Pixar classics.

kayumanggi
So, Brave still looks as boring and predictable as I assumed months ago? Talk about being self-conceited. Edited June 13, 2012 by kayumanggi
kayumanggi
Even Tangled looked cooler and more interesting with its trailers than Brave. Yeah because you have already seen BRAVE, right?

kayumanggi
Todd McCarthy on TANGLED An old-fashioned Disney fairy tale gussied up in 3D for the holidays. FRESH Todd McCarthy on BRAVE Pixar's 13th feature plays it safe and old-fashioned rather than risky and adventurous. ROTTEN REPOSTING
