An interesting film, good concept, and the execution was ok if sometimes cheesy. There were a lot of gags about Kirk's advanced age but obviously he still had it in him when the shit hit the fan. The story here are the ladies, Kim Cattrall and of course the exotic Iman.

I loves me my Shakespear-quoting villains...  Hokey for the majority of 2nd act, but a classic ST climax made for an awesome send-off of the original crew.

Kind of a bummer Klingons have purple blood just because Paramount insisted on a PG rating for all ST movies back then. Still, that zero G sequence is great, the final battle is great, and who can resist Christopher Plummer hamming it up and chewing scenery?

My 2nd favorite Trek film. Effective and tense Cold War thriller set in future space.

What a great send off movie, the plot is tight the trill is there. And why did we not get a captain Sulu spin off movie! I loved it.

A very close 2nd to TWOK in the pantheon of Trek movies. Whilst it kind of drags in the middle, the first attack + the final battle are both such good set pieces that any other misgivings are sidelined. And Eidelmann's score is excellent.

Up to a certain point, Undiscovered Country was a sure contender for best Star Trek film yet, displaying more maturity than any of its predecessors, then Kirk is sentenced to life imprisonment and genre conventions take over, which is sad because something really special was being set up in the first half. 

 

Kirk goofing around in prison and basic 'save someone important at the last second' climax is not what I was promised.

I hope you liked the touch at the end with all of the main cast signing their names.

I still think the first half is better than the second after sleeping on it, most scenes that stay with you long after you saw the movie are in the first half, like this one

 

 

 

 

the last minute is perhaps the best moment of the first 6 Treks.

Second Star to the right & straight on till morning - Kirk as Peter Pan - perfect ending

Loved it, best of the original movies for sure. I was really invested in the story and the action sequences were very well executed and tense. Great send-off to a great cast.
