Finally saw it with my niece.  I think I liked it more than she did.  Hanks is great in this and the animation is quite awesome.  I like the story and the lessons all the kids learn, it's just a really nice Christmas movie.

It's been a few years since I've seen this, but I recall thinking that it's "an okay" movie.  I really appreciate how much work Hanks put into it, but overall I was unimpressed.  And the eyes...THE EYES!  *shivers*

Absolutely love this movie, which has stood the test of time wonderfully a decade later. I even saw it on the big screen again last year even though I have watched the DVD several times. A true Christmas classic.

It's a movie-ride for kids, there's not much to it for people over 10. 

 

Still, I think the boy's story arc is nice and there's a sense of magic that overwhelmed me, which is good thing for this. I also appreciate how unconventionally serious it is for a kids movie.
