I walked out of Day the Earth Stood Still because of how lousy the national security/military scenes were handled, a topic which I know alot about. We were about 20 minutes into the movie and I just couldn't take it.
I've seen this many times before. Gary Oldman is my favorite actor. The ultimate chameleon. I've held him in high regard since Air Force One then I saw some of his earlier work and it reaffirmed my opinion of him. He is the best living actor IMO.
I think you can make a good argument. I personally think the legs for Sixth Sense, Greek Wedding, Lion King, and Forrest Gump were more out of this world. The fact that Frozen is in the same discussion is impressive!
Frozen's run is spectacular. This weekend: $8-8.5m Feb 21-23: $6m Feb 28-Mar 2: $4m Post Oscar bump: March 7-9: $6m I still think Iron Man 3's $409m is safe but Frozen will come within shouting distance.
The 1st 2/3rds of the movie are above-average (Cloudy with Chance of Meatballs, Despicable Me, Monsters University), the final third of the movie is one for the ages (Toy Story 3, Lion King, Finding Nemo).
Overall, a very, very great movie. An absolute delight!
