  1. Yikes, I forgot to put your name in pictures on the other thread. Going to do that now...
  2. "our". There are other people involved in the site besides you? Serious question. When I think of Boxoffice.com I think of Zach Galifianakis. Automatically.
  3. Don't quit your day job, unless you're a standup.
  4. Do we all agree Wind Rises is a lock? I still have yet to see it.
  5. * No Pixar entry. When was the last time that happened in a year where they had a movie? * Frozen is the recent commercial favorite but Wind Rises is Miyazaki's last. Sorry DM2 and Frozen. Best animated feature film of the year “The Croods” Chris Sanders, Kirk DeMicco and Kristine Belson “Despicable Me 2” Chris Renaud, Pierre Coffin and Chris Meledandri “Ernest & Celestine” Benjamin Renner and Didier Brunner “Frozen” Chris Buck, Jennifer Lee and Peter Del Vecho “The Wind Rises” Hayao Miyazaki and Toshio Suzuki
  6. Historically (Argo, Lincoln) expansions don't result in stratospheric PTA which is what would need to happen for a $12-14m weekend from only 900 theaters. I think both Gravity and Phillips will do the same amount of business they had when they were around 900 theaters before. We shall soon see!
  7. I made this statement almost a month ago. Now we're here and I think we'll see a $1.0-$1.3m gross. Same for Capt Phillips which is also expanding.
  8. 88% Hercules (the one this summer with The Rock)
  9. I had a full weekend of watching movies: American Hustle (2nd time) Her Frozen Lone Survivor
  10. A I am hesitant to label Lone Survivor the best war movie since Saving Private Ryan but it does have all the ingredients, likable characters who you don't want to see die, attention grabbing action, tension, sad moments, redeeming moments. It really surprised me how good it was.
  11. This period of time marked the beginning of Scarlett Johanssen's career (Lost in Translation) and the beginning of the end for Renee Zellweger's (Cold Mountain)
  12. You are turning 40 this year.
  13. A+ Pitch perfect performances and direction kept me in the story. The locations, cinematography and even music shine in the fabric of this film. Spike Jonze is a master story weaver at the top of his game. Joaquin Phoenix and Scarlett Johansson are utterly credible as are all the other leads.
  14. The best of the Clancy movies. Excellent casting, tension, action. Harrison Ford at his best. A
  15. Same chart as in the Frozen thread but posting here also because it includes Friday's number.
  16. Interesting. I personally had the opposite reaction. I keep pondering whether it IS possible to fall in love with a robot.
