  1. You both make good points. I do think what made Avatar 10 legs worthy is less so this time around. There's more familiarity. Fortunately even with a $1 billion combined budget and with costly advertising, my guess is $2.7billion is needed to break even. The trilogy will make JC even richer.
  2. Relativity was like "screw it" re: Out of the Furnace. http://boxofficemojo.com/weekend/chart/
  3. Interesting... Maybe I'll take the gf to see Frozen with me so I don't look like a creep.
  4. No offense but at 18 years old, I think you're closer to the target age group. *runs for cover*
  5. haha. Granted, I will see Pixar movies in a heartbeat because they appeal to all ages. However, from what I've seen of Frozen, I think I'm outside the target demographic (mid 30s and wrong gender too).
  6. Wait for DVD Frozen Walter Mitty Saving Mr. Banks 47 Ronin Must Sees Catching Fire - done Smaug - done American Hustle - done Anchorman 2 - done Wolf of Wall Street - not yet
  7. Surprised that hasn't been made yet. Or David Koresh (big screen) and Waco.
  8. Michael B Jordan and Matthew McConaughey were revelations.
  9. The last time I saw the first Anchorman was several years ago so after seeing the sequel I was reminded how its humor was an acquired taste. Anchorman is not for everyone. With that said, there are enough laughs for the GA to enjoy but I don't anticipate much mainstream success. I don't see $100m. I think Steve Carrell's character is hit and miss. The big battle scene is very silly. Some of the jokes fell a bit flat. With that said, I enjoyed the movie and would give it a B-
  10. Hunger Games made $50 more million after its 31st day (which is where Catching Fire is now).
  11. Not nauseating in a literal sense but I did cringe at the whipping scene in 12 Years a Slave. Come to think of it, there was this French film where a woman is fingering herself while on her period. I did get a little nausea from that.
  12. No bras were damaged in the making of this movie because there are none
  13. 1. How did you know they were shocked at the inappropriateness. Did they say that? 2. Did you leave because of that or because it was over?
  14. You're right, the ending of Ratatouille and Toy Story 2 were fantastic. I would like to replace the above-mentioned Toy Story 3 scene with the Monsters Inc ending as my favorite Pixar scene. http://youtu.be/92UI5bpG8oc
  15. I'm referring to Batman/Bruce Wayne, Tony Stark/Iron Man can play older in my opinion. Michael Keaton/George Clooney/Val Kilmer were 36-38 when they played Batman. Ben Affleck will be about 43. I think mid-30s is about right.
  16. You understood Tree of Life? 1. Passion of the Christ 2. Dark Knight 3. Avengers 4. LOTR Trilogy 5. There will be Blood 6. Django Unchained 7. Toy Story 3 8. The Departed 9. Spirited Away 10. Kill Bill 1/2 11. Avatar 12. Inception 13. Gravity 14. Wall-E 15. The Incredibles 16. I Am Legend 17. Dark Knight Rises 18. Batman Begins 19. Revenge of the Sith 20. Wall-E 21. Beasts of the Southern Wild 22. Hobbit 1/2 23. No Country for Old Men 24. Finding Nemo 25. Howl's Moving Castle 26. Oldboy 27. Monsters Inc. 28. The Prestige 29. Up 30. Fruitvale Station
  17. 78% (highly optimistic) Three Days to Kill
