  1. Dragon 2 also had a good release date, the first major animated movie since Rio 2 in April and no other major family competition for the weeks but still it disappointed in DOM. I'm still shocked about that movie's DOM performance
  2. Yeah the last 2 weeks of April could be dull in the box office Glad though here in the Philippines we will Avengers on April 22 and it's summer time here so that's a really great date
  3. Agree, if you didn't know JLo was on it, you would not really know she was voicing the mother. I like Home just fine, I didn't think it would breakout this big and I was worried this would flop as well but glad it did not. It's not really bad, its passable kiddie entertainment Lol at the Sheldon and TBBT hate but oh well it's typical Internet. Comedy is subjective anyway. Online crowd questions why Modern Family and TBBT always get nominated and I don't see why award giving bodies classify shows such as Girls, House of Lies, Nurse Jackie and Orange is the new Black as "comedies". But yeah those are "smart and edgy" shows
  4. Jim, Rihanna and JLO went all out with the promo. I think Jim Parsons could been a factor since Sheldon is a very popular TV character and Oh is basically Sheldon in animated alien form
  5. 3 straight weeks of good box office after that weak start of March
  6. This is good for Dreamworks Animation, this is their only movie this year afterall, they need this to be a hit or at least not lose money on it as they rebuild their company and brand
  7. Not really a bad weekend for the top 2 movies and Kingsman! Can Spongebob come near Fifty Shades? (domestically speaking of course)

  9. When I first saw the trailer, I thought the actress was too bland but in the movie she was so charming and will really win you over
  10. Loving Kingsman's legs! MacFarland and The Duff are doing OK for small releases Spongebob hanging on Yikes at Chappie!
  11. He is in his 60s so I guess he just is maximizing the opportunities while it's still there
  12. Well I think it's because Kingsman has a more likable lead (plus Colin Firth) unlike Kick Ass
  13. The trades and movie websites are focusing more on Vince Vaughn's newest flop than Chappie's disappointing performance
  14. BH6 won the Oscar and crossed $600M worldwide and the the thread is still about the first look and new trailer
  15. I was so surprise how Penguins flopped, didn't expect it to gross under 100M especially that it had a good release date
  16. 2nd Best Exotic Marigold Hotel is the lone bright spot this weekend. I wonder if had like 3K screens would it have been at #1?
  17. 3rd straight weekend of lackluster results. At least it will pick up in the next 2-3 weeks. April after Fast 7 is so uneventful as well.
  18. Birdman and Selma with the lowest drops
