With the World Cup fast approaching what better way to prepare than to watch one of the funniest British comedies of all time.The film is in the style of a behind the scenes TV documentary following a lower leagues manager being given the ENgland job because nobody else wants it and seeing his whole world fall apart in the process.Ricky Tomlinson is great in the title role and the whole cast backs him up strongly. The filmakers all use actual footballing scenes sparingly, focussing more on the relationships between characters. Yes there are some nods to classic moments in English football, but in general I honestly feel this is a sports film that can be enjoyed without any need to like the sport in question.A
