  1. Is anyone else finding themselves being drawn to potentially screwing themselves over because of one film?I'm in this situation with Lucy. The trailer cast and everything about it looks cool enough to me that I want it to be a 100M grossing film and I feel like it should be, yet all logic dictates that it won't even get close and putting it in my top 15 is just giving myself a 30,000 point or so deficit on everyone else. But I keep readdding it to my list despite myself. (I did the same with After Earth last year)

  3. I was both delighted and amazed that Aladdin won that. Frozen seems to be going down that annoying path when an amazing film is classed as a greatest of all time film which it just isnt.
  4. POT 1The Hunger Games: Catching Fire v The AvengersLord Of The Rings: Return Of The King v Lord Of The Rings: Fellowship Of The Ring POT 2Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers v FrozenJurassic Park v The Dark Knight
  5. Sad to see no road to Eldorado. Disappointed by the low positions of Lion King and Aladdin, Very happy to see Jungle Book high and a Disney animation getting the top spot.
  6. I get two things from this article: 1) When George Lucas cannot get anybody else to take a role, he gives it to Harrison Ford. 2) If you turn down a part in a George Lucas production and later discover it's been given to Harrison Ford, you've been a damn fool.
  7. Yep I've got that film at the top of my list. Well one of my lists at least
  8. How about this year's winner get's their member status changed to 'Summer Game Champion' instead of the bog standard 'member'?
  9. I can honestly see 6 different films being ranked number 1 by somebody this summer. It's so damn hard compared to last year.
  10. You have four choices for this spur of the moment question. You can answer, all, none or as many as you would like. Abstain for all 4 As a bonus, what will ASM2 gross for it's OW? If you are within 3.5%, the bonus is worth another 5,000. No penalty for missing the gross by more than 3.5%. $95.5M
  11. What is the situation with local films on international questions? eg the 200M in China question. WOuld a Chinese film making 200M mean a yes, or is it still limited to just the bolded titles in post one of the main thread?
  12. He is also a producer on The Purge too according to IMDB
  13. They've been in talks with MGM about securing rights to the Clarice Starling character because in 2012 MGM and the Lifetime cable network proposed a Clarice Starling after the FBI academy series. There's been no movement on that series since the initial announcement. NBC's Hannibal is not allowed to use any character that originated in SotL movie i.e. Clarice or Barney the orderly. Originally Hannibal's patient Franklyn and his friend Tobias were supposed to be Benjamin Raispail and Jame Gumb aka Buffalo Bill. Cynthia Nixon's character name is an anagram of Paul Krendler, who was later played by Ray Liotta in Hannibal but was first introduced in SotL. Will Graham isn't in the Silence of the Lambs or Hannibal novels but according to Hugh Dancy the intention is to keep him involved in some capacity. They've even mentioned shortening the seasons down to 8 or 10 episodes if a particular novel needs less time to be fleshed out the way they'd like. A Lot of that makes sense and I do hope they get the right to SOTT characters etc. That would also potentially give season 3 scope to introduce Mason Verger if they are planning ahead for a potential 'Hannibal' season.
  14. Also I just found out that Avengers 2 was filming on the street I used to live on yesterday. If only they'd done the filming last year...
  15. And now Kim Yuna is singing (and skating to) Let it Go. Technically an Air COnditioner advert but still...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6tZaMLObLCI
  16. I'm gonna put Fluffy at number 1.Hope that helps
  17. Not at all. As long as they are still decent at worst I have a lot of time for the genre. And besides, for CGI heavy explosive fun that many audiences want, what would you replace them with? More Lone Rangers and After Earths?
