  1. ... oh I see, the Thursday 7am bonus midweek thingy deadline. Don't you scare me like that! I thought for a sec that I'd accidentally gone into hibernation for 2 days.
  2. Phantom and last exorcism keep getting muddled in my mind, I was almost ready to guess something like 78th for question 5
  3. As always just wanting to clarify, Assuming that Stoker is not included in the openers combined total right, just the 4 films given to predict....
  4. exactly, anybody not saying this clearly never paid to see it.
  5. Before the team swap I would have liked this, now however its just grrrr although still with a little bit of
  6. NGNG Amour wins at least 3 awards and lincoln wins zero. Wish: Pi wins all its categories. Length: 17 hours and 4 minutes.
  7. So just clarifying scoring systems yet again. This is going to be 2 scores out of 100% and then a busload of +/- 1.5% yes? So we could feasibly see a score of well over 100%?
  8. Wow the actuals for percentage drops changed dramatically from the estimates yesterday! That must of added over 10% to my score. Just clarifying an assumption that me and ICerolls are bot immune because of me for this week and Iceroll's carries over from last week, is that correct?
  9. I don't know if the percentage drops work the same as other systems, but my score of pushing 60% (maybe) is starting to look okay now.
  10. See now why can't Life of Pi be a 4 box series we can return to every winter for the next few years instead of the teeny romancy crap that's going to happen.
  11. Everything is disappointing to some, I'm sure there are some out there who were disappointed Avengers couldn't beat Titanic or even Avatar. Hell there are probably some that get dissappointed when Twilight: Suntsets and Sparkles doesn'tbeat Avatar and Titanic.
  12. Well looking at results so far it is my usual mix of some spot on and others missing by a universe. EFPA, ID Thief and been my friends to some extent but then Die hard injured me (after a promising Thursday ready for Beautiful Creatures lay a vicious beating that was round off by good old Sly Stallone screwing me up the arse with an unripe mango.
  13. Seeing as the shows I watch are: Bones CastleHIMYM ElementaryGrimm2 and 1/2 MenNew GirlSouth ParkSimpsons its good to see that most/all will still be around next year. It's a bugger though that in the next year or two I am going to have to go through the ordeal of finding new things to watch.
  14. Normally I would make a comment or two now about my progress but I honestly have no idea
  15. Of the Pixar movies the one that really killed me was UP. When the first 10 minutes was over I can to pause the film for another ten just to pull myself together. Arguably the most heartbreaking stuff ever put to film and its a flipping kids cartoon! Even though after that most of the film becomes more childish fun (thank god) every time the film refers to those first ten minutes it became hard to watch again. A masterpiece, but I'm amazed it ever got made, especially as an animation for children.
  16. Oh I get what you mean, I am constantly amazed by how some films can surprise you with depth that was never expected of them. I remember the first American Pie film shocking me when I finally gave in to peer pressure and watched it that there is actually a really sweet film with a lot of heart lying beneath the OTT sex jokes and stuff. It' s why i made the thread.
  17. I remember that film being released (its the heart transplant of the ex-lover film right?), as a person who only saw a trailer or two it struck as being typical, smultzy romantic Hollywoody stuff with a reachy premise. So if there is actually depth and heart to the film I can fully understand that coming out of nowhere especially if its a subject matter close to the heart of the viewer.
  18. A couple of months ago I moved house and without anything much to do was reduced to finding random films to watch. During this search I came across the film: Everything Must Go starrring Will Ferrell. With my previous experience of Ferrell Films, I was expecting some silly over the top fun that was either going to be a lot of fun or total drivel. Therefore it totally took me by surprise when not only was Ferrell playing a straight role but he absolutely nailed it in my opinion. I have had some experience of family members affected by alcohol and with my defences down due to expectations of a generic Will Ferrell comedy, the whole film just destroyed me. If Ferrell has never experienced ALcoholism in some form then he is wasting himself as a comedy actor. I honestly can't remember a time before or since when I have felt so personally affected by a film and it was completely unexpected when I chose the source material, which brings me to my question. Has this ever happened to anybody else? I don't mean watching a film like Schindler's List or Shawshank where depth is a given from the start, but a film that ending up hitting very close to home at a personal level when it was the last film you expected to do so?
  19. These numbers are all very nice and all, but the BITH number is what really counts!! Any word yet?
  20. The amazing film about that film was that it was awesome until they gave him a costar to deal with. I could have watched him and his dog deal with stuff alone happily for 2 hours.
  21. There's no rush, take your time. Or hey, why not just take the week off?
  22. I think in retaliation we make all our predictions next week to the dollar and make Spaghetti really have to work to work out our scores.
