  1. ItI think it'll be mostly positive, add that with Lord of the Rings and you're good.
  2. Just saw the film at private showing, extremely tired from driving around all day. It is a must see in 3D, but I'm kinda undecided on the 48 fps. It did not give me a headache or sicken me. My complaint is it makes sets and areas look fake in a way, while at the same time, the quality is much sharper and everything suddenly stands out. It is a bit distracting at first, but after awhile, you just sit back and watch the movie's beauty. Music is excellent. The film seems to have a slightly less serious tone then the last movie. I do feel it had somewhat of a slow pace at times, especialy the beginning of the film which really needs some editing. Action is excellent and seems well timed. Performances from everyone was great, especially Freeman and McKellen. B+
  3. I think the biggest thing that turns me off is the siege. I highly doubt the US government would have sat at its side and waited for millions of people to die from a nuclear blast. Sent in one spec ops team, which gets killed, yup, we failed, lets watch millions die live. You also have riots all on day 1, but for five months everything is quiet, what people are going to sit on their asses and wait for a nuclear bomb to explode? Surely there would have been even more riots or chaos, its not like Bane had a massive army, there's like millions of people in the city surely. The pacing with the 5 month thing is also rather terrible. Also watching it on dvd, the aspect ratio bouncing back and forth is so annoying, but thankfully didn't notice it too much.
  4. Battle scene was fine. Nice camera shots.Acting as usual was horrid, can't say it was too surprising. There was like no sense of time, felt like things just happened.AND What the hell is up with the baby?!?! Looked like some cgi doll. I wasn't the only one, I heard someone in the crowd actually say "What the hell." Made my day. :rofl:DAnd so ends the movie series how on important is is to have a boyfriend. I've always felt that the books/movies are very sexist. Things like no sex before marriage, girls are always fragile and therefore should stay at home and have babies. The character Bella has no hopes, no dreams, no ambition other than to be with Edward forever. Completely an object basically, girls can't survive without a boyfriend is what the movies/book's message is. Its...really sad and disgusting.
  5. I meant in the latter two seasons. Anyways, that doesn't disprove my point. They might as well call this show The Walking Idiots.
  6. After watching two seasons of Walking Dead and the five episodes so far, I've come to the conclusion that the show is pretty lame and lacks depth. It's just another "white people save the world" show, doesn't comment on current politics or culture, doesn't really get into the post-apocalypse world very deeply either. Things such as there's not a single highly educated person on the show, except for a couple of techies significantly subordinated to the white rule, all while in the south, which is telling. I guess the zombies managed to kill all the PHD and masters people, plus not a single latino person so far. Also, like it's been ten months but no one in the show has yet realized that simple leather armor, never mind plentiful body armor, there's tons in the prison, could easily save them from zombie bites over most of their body.Only entertaining thing the show has come up with is the zombie killing is really well done and the music is good enough. My only hope is the story gets better, but it doesn't seem to.
  7. DWhat an utterly disappointingly horrible film. Predictable and stupid.
  8. Fantastic film.Saw it a few days after it was released back in 1993, the first time I saw the dinosaurs, I had tears of joy, it was one of those moments that I've yet to see repeated with any other film since then. However, the movie is not about dinosaurs or even human beings, it even ask the question how can human beings live in the technological nightmare worlds they have constructed for themselves? We see many moments of this where Neill's character is annoyed with how he can't get along with technology, or when the leading characters argue about the import of Jurassic Park, or even another character amazed over a can of shaving foam which is really a secret storage container for smuggling embryosPlenty of times in the movie the heroes themselves are dealing with technological hazards then dinosaurs. The car falling out of the tree, the perimeter fence turned on, how the characters at the main base are unable to get anything working. Educated, intelligent people are helpless before failed or refusing to work technology (Phones aren't working!), which is as helpless as when faced with a T. Rex or a Raptor. This is where the brilliance of the film lies. The real meaning is dinosaurs are technology too, as highlighted when a velociraptor in a brilliant shot, is bathed in the light of a computer monitor, and suddenly appears as a collection of computer data constructions. They aren't real animals. The acting is excellent by all the characters, Laura Dern and the young actress who plays the granddaughter both deliver especially noteworthy performances. The movie is very fast paced and never lets up. Some great camera shots like the T.Rex car chase (You think they'll have that on the tour?), the birds viewed from the window of the chopper at the end of the movie, a reminder of how dinosaurs are still with us; Dern attempting to stare down a velociraptor, every muscle in her body straining, and of course when the T.Rex itself emerges from the enclosure in the middle of a rainstorm. Despite the predictable ending and chase scenes, the dinosaurs themselves have a splendor that is impossible to resist.Highly recommended.A+
  9. Baumer's review pretty much nailed the movie for me. I always find it a fantastic watch, and Dantes's escape always cheers me whenever I watch the film. Acting is excellent, and the costumes are well done for that era.A+
  10. Poorly disguised recruiting movie for the US navy. Was somewhat entertaining.C+
  11. My favorite movie of all time. This movie is the very definition of epic.A+
  12. Its fun, but the first is the best IMO. This tries, but its pretty generic tbh.B-
  13. Beautiful and sad film. Gives you some interesting things to think about in general about humanity. The music is excellent and what makes this film, along with the fantastic performances by the leads.A+
  14. What a boring Friday, even read the DHD comments for amusement.Hopefully things pick up soon.
  15. Saw it again, I must say I enjoyed it more on smaller screen because the shaking camera was less annoying. Also this time I noticed the soundtrack, which was very well done, but not overall very memorable.
  16. I just saw Bourne Legacy, very mixed on it myself. I think the crowd was too. Had some good action moments, but for most part it was a boring movie.
  17. Probably one of the best action movies I've ever seen. Great acting, the music paces very well with some heart stopping moments. There's like no flaw at all, at least to me.A+
  18. http://www.uproxx.com/gammasquad/2012/07/your-sarcastic-guide-to-alleged-plot-holes-in-the-dark-knight-rises/Granted, i still have a problem with a few things, but I found this hilarious.
  19. I'm sorry, but he was the crappiest of the three, and I say this as a person who enjoyed TASM. The crap CGI did not help either.
  20. I thought Loki was far better then I expected in TA, he wasn't scary or menacing or anything, but he had an objective in mind. Bane is the better villain in my opinion.Anyways TA versus TDKR, like we haven't already had plenty of these arguments already.
  21. 17 for TDKR?I would normally be pissed, but the fun in the box office run of the movie has been taken out for me.Sigh 50m Weekend here we come.
  22. Still pretty damn early. 20m is a good start though.
  23. I doubt TDKR will increase for Tuesday, not even TDK did, what makes you think TDKR will?
  24. What a shame, I was hoping its true, because some scenes felt rushed and I was wondering if they were cutting it to put an acceptable time for the theaters.
