I'm still not thoroughly convinced at Frozen making 300m. It still has a long way to go. Although it'll be a one of a kind success for WDAS if it does reach the milestone.
So they snubbed Monsters University and The Wind Rises for animated feature. Interesting. I'd say Frozen is already a lock there.Sad for Saving Mr Banks though. Only 1 nom?!
I don't think Disney is really pushing any song from Frozen besides Let It Go for the awards season. But if there will indeed be a 2nd song nominated from the film, it'll be For the First Time in Forever.
So Frozen actually increased more than 100% from Ralph's OW. WOW. Also a lot higher than Tangled. I am beyond surprised. Never felt the demand or hype for the film here.
Magnificent success so far! Although I'm more curious on how it'll do in Australia. Isn't it like summer over there right now? Will they eat up a winter-themed movie?
So you think its longevity is already in trouble just because of a single tuesday drop?! Just because you didn't thoroughly liked the film doesn't mean that you gotta assume its bad fate out of nowhere.
^amazing work over there! It's great to see this finishing more in the lines of Tangled rather than Ralph overseas. And all those upward trends on lots of markets can propel it to 400M! Hopefully the holidays in Spain (as said by HenryBcn) would help it buck that opening of Frozen over there.
1. Frozen2. Tangled3. Wreck-it Ralph4. Meet the Robinsons5. The Princess and the Frog6. BoltThe list is separated into two with the first half having the new renaissance films And no, I don't consider Chicken Little as part of the Disney Animation canon.
Tangled was a mammoth in Germany, so the fact that Frozen can actually challenge it (w/ that opening) is already amazing. And don't forget that Frozen got the holidays on itself, while Tangled opened after the holiday festivities on many markets. Great legs may come for Frozen. I'll be happy for anything beyond 350M.
For once I doubted Rth and trusted Nikki and Deadline. I will never ever do it again.
The 27-29M Friday looks to translates to around 67-73M 3-day for Frozen. Never imagined these numbers were even possible! The power of Olaf and word of mouth!
