  1. If the final totals of Fantastic Beasts and Doctor Strange are divided by their previews, it produces a ratio that would give Justice League approximately a 300 million total if it scores 12 million in Thursday previews.
  2. (+86%) - Lady Bird - 2.23 - 4.40 (-57.2%) - Blade Runner 2049 - 0.625 - 89.30 (-44.4%) - Let there be Light - 0.620 - 7.00 (-50.1%) - LEGO Ninjago - 0.400 - 59.08 (-30.6%) - Killing of Sacred Deer - 0.320 - 2.09 (-60.2%) - Victoria and Abdul - 0.270 - 21.72 (-80.3%) - Happy Death Day - 0.250 - 55.44 (-76.0%) - Only the Brave - 0.225 - 17.64 (-57,4%) - Kingsman - 0.220 - 99.77 (-53.2%) - American Made - 0.210 - 51.13 (-73.1%) - The Foreigner - 0.210 - 33.98 (-49.1%) - Marshall - 0.210 - 8.83 (-58.7%) - My Little Pony - 0.210 - 21.82 (-57.1%) - It - 0.19 - 326.94 (-54.1%) - Mountain Between Us - 0.133 - 29.69 (-84.8%) - Thank You For Your Service - 0.130 - 9.48 (-63.6%) - Same Kind of Different As Me - 0.067 - 6.30
  3. my predictions for this weekend. I have no idea what to expect with The Star and Wonder. Also, I have no idea how Express will hold. I guessed at the upcoming theater losses when calculating holdovers outside the top 10, and then I added in the projected weekday numbers to the cumulative total. Movies in bold are Warner Bros and could potentially receive over 100K in drive in double features with Justice League. They stopped tracking Wonder Woman, but not Dunkirk!!! NEW - Justice League - 140.00 - 140.00 (-60.0%) - Thor 2 - 22.80 - 249.56 NEW - The Star - 13.50 - 13.50 NEW - Wonder - 13.50 - 13.50 (-56.2%) - Daddy's Home 2 - 13.00 - 50.50 (-54.7%) - Murder on the Orient Express - 13.00 - 50.75 (-39.0%) - Bad Moms Christmas - 7.00 - 51.00 (-58.4%) - Jigsaw - 1.424 - 36.83 (-66.0%) - Boo 2! - 0.680 - 47.00 (-54.1%) - Blade Runner 2049 - 0.670 - 89.29 (-69.5%) - Geostorm - 0.500 - 32.74 (-43.9%) - Lego Ninjago - 0.450 - 59.13 (-41.0%) - Victoria and Abdul - 0.400 - 21.89 (-70.8%) - Happy Death Day - 0.370 - 55.63 (-56.5%) - The Foreigner - 0.34 - 34.13 (-73.3%) - Only the Brave - 0.25 - 17.67 (-46.5%) - American Made - 0.24 - 51.18 (-42.6%) - Kingsman 2 - 0.24 - 99.79 (-54.8%) - My Little Pony - 0.23 - 21.83 (-54.9%) - It - 0.20 - 326.97 (-79.6%) - Thank You for Your Service - 0.174 - 9.59 (-66.0%) - Marshall - 0.140 - 8.75 (-60.3%) - Mountain Between Us - 0.115 - 29.69
  4. Lady Bird dropped 30% Sunday, Florida Project dropped -39%, and Killing of the Sacred Deer dropped -31%. BOM Sunday estimates are -20%(LB), -25%(Florida), -18% Deer.
  5. 1 week remaining!!! last minute cram for those top 25 guarantees. Here are 37 films. I need to watch at least seven of these. Which seven would be most list-worthy? Liar Liar, Eve's Bayou, Full Monty, LA Confidential, Kundun, Rainmaker, ConAir, Chasing Amy, Flubber, In and out, Hercules, My Best Friends Wedding, Donnie Brasco, Hard Eight, Absolute Power, Kiss the Girls, The Game, G.I. Jane, Seven Years in Tibet, Gridlock'd, Hoodlum, Rosewood, Metro, Soul Food, Money Talks, Nothing to Lose, Private Parts, Selena, The Devil's Own, Spawn, Mad City, Gang Related, Midnight in the Garden..., Def Jams..., Addicted to Love, Grosse Point Blank, Werewolf in Paris.
  6. Right now I am placing my bets with something like 50 million OW and well over 200 million total. However, the same thinking did not get me far with Dunkirk.
  7. it seems like during the third weekend of November, if there is a 120M+ opener, it is usually followed with strong openings alongside it. Is there any reason to think the Star or Wonder might open with more than 20M?
  8. I think it's crazy how top heavy the top 4 were this weekend. Thor averaged roughly 1500 tickets sold per location. That means roughly 3000 people came for Thor, Express, and DH2. Also BM2 would then do a little less than half of Express or DH2 in comparison per location. Who knows how the rest performed. Maybe they had limited showings where the strongest showing represents the bulk of their daily average
  9. it is funny how every week there is always a moderate crowd pleaser based on some source material with a history. It just so happens this weekend the crowds came to the movie theater. I am surprised all the money is going to the top 4 and split decision buyers did not see one of the older ones with better reviews.

  11. strong numbers!! Daddy's Home 2 and Orient Express both have a chance to match Arrival's OW from a similar time frame in 2016. I wonder if the concept of Mel Gibson being back is bringing out the crowds and causing people to split between DH2 and Orient? I know last year, the averages were very strong for Jack Reacher, Accountant, Girl on a Train, Miss Peregrine and a bunch others amongst the openings of Doctor Strange + Arrival + Trolls etc. It was like people were debating what to see because there was so much out there but they did not want to see Doctor Strange and then Jack Reacher is sold out again. It seems like the same thing might be happening this year. Mel Gibson has been in soo many commercials. Definitely his presence has people talking, and then when the people finally get to the ticket booth, they see Bad Mom's Christmas. As far as how I think the weekend will go, I think large crowds will come out and everything will do well, but I see Thor holding a giant vaccuum cleaner sucking in all undecided moviegoers. Also I forgot to mention, the numbers always go up at the beginning of November and continue to push upward. Veteran's Day is a big focus this weekend! A lot of schools have Friday off and the calendar date for Veteran's Day is Saturday. Probably a lot of people want to take this weekend off. That could push for strong numbers everywhere.
  12. some predix.... (Thursday projection included in final total. Geostorm and Happy Death Day have been coasting day to day but look for legs to get sliced off next week. No 60m total for HDD. 13. This was a trip. Inception certainly borrowed alot from this. It makes me need to immediately rewatch Vanilla Sky, and then Open Your Eyes again. This is the link to the science fiction novel the film is based on. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ubik
  14. I hope Warner Brothers releases their theater counts tonight.
  15. how is Denzel looking for Roman J. Israel, Esq.? The tv spot I just glimpsed at made me feel like it has potential to be the years best performance.
  16. hahaha very random film. I like how the corporal's fate is constantly up in the air the entire time and all the plots that develop along the way. I feel I could watch this, Fences, and August: Osage County and have a good day watching film. Also, Colin Farrell's second interesting role after The Lobster.
