  1. I would love for it to win Best Cinematography, don't really care about the other nods. Deakins deserves it wholeheartedly.
  2. Ah, what a rare display of intelligence we have here. A director with a vision who has yet to make a bad movie, makes a high profile sequel to a 30 year old movie ( that also flopped then ) and the movie loses the studio money. Let's jump at the director's throat and even go as far as saying he has to " mature." Truly, your statement presents no flaw whatsoever.
  3. Still saddened the best movie of 2017 has only grossed $92M (dom.).
  4. Isn't the TLJ hold better than what most people make it out to be, considering the theater count drop tho? At least it feels that way to me.
  5. As sad as BR49's OW has made me, the still on-going IT run brings me comfort.
  6. So, in a matter of 4-5 months, 3 new movies will have entered the Top 10 Animated movies of all time ( domestic ). Ok.
  7. I wonder... this must be the peak of animation prowess at the box office. Look at how much money animation has made lately. This must be the peak, right? Is it possible for animated movies to be even bigger at the box office?
  8. Contrary to what many claim, Legacy wasn't ALL that bad. Personally, if this is like just a bit better than Legacy, I will be satisfied, and it should at the very least be that.
  9. Is it just me or are horror movies a bit on the rise lately? The Witch, The Conjuring 2 and The Shallows in 6 months is no joke.
  10. The Witch has to be my favorite horror movie I've watched in the past 2 years. I can't recall watching something even close to being as good as TW in that period of time.
  11. Am I the only one who enjoyed Into Darkness more than ST09?
  12. It depends though and there is no way we can know exactly how the top heads at WB view BvS as an investment. Do they care more about the movie making a decent amount and promoting upcoming projects or do they care more about the movie doing business on its own in this particular case? We'll never know. True, it is obvious it should've done more, but will the difference between what is and what could've been for THIS movie actually matter in the end? Probably not.
  13. Don't get me wrong I am not saying BvS shouldn't have made more, it's just that some people are running around waving doom and gloom because they had expectations that were far bigger than even WB's.
  14. I am growing tired of people saying Batman v Superman should've done 10 billions dollars just because it has 3 of the most iconic superheroes. You are blinded by recent years of success in terms of SH movies. Those movies weren't successful because they had 'x' iconic superhero in them, they were successful because they were very well executed. GOTG didn't do $773M because everyone wanted to see the characters on the big screen. Same logic applies to why Batman and Robin didn't do significant numbers despite very popular characters. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it goes.. horribly wrong. You don't expect every movie about Jesus to make Passion of Christ numbers.
