  1. Hemsworth doesn't deserve those 10m dollar pay checks he's getting. There is no way black hat would have broken out this weekend because if the competition but 5million weekend is pathetic.
  2. I agree. But most of the roles that Scarlett has done are small indies. She's only recently become a huge star.
  3. It could, we'll see how much of a fanbase that JLO has because that shit looks terrible.
  4. January: American Sniper -possible February: Fifty Shades of Grey-possible but not 110m. I think Fifty Shades has a more limited audience and the subject matter isnt for everyone, plus its rated-R. Passion of the Christ was also rated-R but its about Jesus. March: Not happening. For Cinderella, i expect Maleficent/OZ type numbers April:Furious 7-possible; i think the franchise is at the peak of its popularity, but it could be just below Captain America 2. May:Avengers 2- probably happening. June:possible; but i think Jurassic World is more likely to have Godzilla type opening weekend; The curiosity factor is gone, people know what this franchise is about. July:not happening. This record likely wont be broken within this decade unless they move Avengers or Star Wars to July 2018 or July 2019. August:not happening September:possible; Maze Runner has some room to grow, I dont know how much it can in the month of September. October:not happening. Gambit could do in 2016 though. November:possible but not likely. MJP2 will get a the last film spike but i think the franchise peaked with Catching Fire. December: definitely happening.
  5. I doubt that, if its an Oscar player it should have decent legs with the adult audience.
  6. 1/16-1/18 American Sniper- 45m The Wedding Ringer- 25m Paddington- 16m Blackhat-8m American Sniper could hold the top spot for the rest of the month. It's probably going to get a load of Oscar nominations.
  7. This is listed as having an estimated 85million dollar budget on IMDB. Is there going to be lots of special effects or something?
  8. Seems like Scarlett legitimately wants to become a premiere female action star. I dont blame her since Marvel didnt jump on the Black Widow solo movie, their loss is other studios' gains.
  9. It released in a few more OS territories this weekend for a new total of 16.9m.
  10. we'll have a good first few weeks of January before it turns to shit after MLK weekend. 2015 has alot of work to do.
  11. As usual nice drops for the family films. I dont think they will expand ITW that much, Les Miserables widest release was 2,927 theaters. Im not sure why.
  12. Jan 2-4 1)The Hobbit 3-28m 2)Unbroken-23m 3)Into the Woods-22m 4)Night at the museum-14m 5)Women in Black 2-13m 6)Annie-11m 7)The Imitation Game-8m 8)Mockingjay P1-7m 9)The Gambler-6m 10)Exodus-4m
  13. The one-two punch of unbroken and hobbit totally killed exodus. Fox is ending on a sour note after a fantastic year.
  14. Fun Fact: Meryl Streep's highest grossing movie worldwide is Mamma Mia (a musical). It looks like Into the Woods will be joining her top 5 soon. I guess the lesson is Streep in a musical=Big Bucks.
  15. I wish she had a better filmography, she hasn't really reached her peak. Imo I would like the Cleopatra film to happen.
  16. Well I think everyone knows that, not a lot of strong films this year. January should be pretty big though.
  17. I don't understand Unbroken numbers, unremarkable marketing. I guess people are desperate for an adult drama.
  18. I'm surprised with the unbroken numbers. There didn't seem to be much pre-release buzz, and it doesn't have golden globe nominations either. Weird. It's really benefiting from no huge four quadrant films.
  19. what time does early numbers usually come in for xmas day?
  20. Well its probably not going to be a huge weekend for any of the new openers but thats been the story for the last 6 months of 2014.
  21. apparently its playing in over 300 theaters now. What do you guys think will be the final count when all is said and done?
