    Using the general 10:1 rule to compare to the DOM market, Avatar made the equivalent of approx $1.15B. So yes, about a 50% better performance here compared to DOM.

    So TFA holds the NYD record at 34.4m, followed by Avatar at 25.3, and NWH at 23.1m. Im pretty confident that TWOW can beat NWH.. any takers on Avatar at #2? Happy New Year everyone 🥳

    TWOWs run just keeps getting better and better. The potential for a nearly 70m 3rd WE and 2nd to 3rd increase?! Only Avatar. I keep trying to remind myself that this is the holiday period and to not let my excitement shift into expectations… but I’ve done that about 12 times this week and the numbers just keep proving me wrong. Even if this goes all Rogue One on us after this weekend, it’s actually been great to see how many old users (myself included) have come out of hiding to watch this. I’ve been lurking behind the scenes for years but TWOW got me excited enough for box office again that I logged back in again. Can’t wait to see where this lands!

    That would require a 40%+ increase on its 2nd weekend. As much as I’d love for that to happen, I don’t see it.

    So once the dust settles in…March(?), Cameron will have 3 of the top 5 (or 6) WW of all time. Insanity.

    Well if we use Rogue One as a comp like the DOM market, then we’re in for a sizeable 30% bump. Wishful thinking though. That was also after a 70% 2nd WE drop. Nothing else I can compare to with what I have access to. I’m thinking it’ll be relatively flat, around 6.5-7m.

    $80m+ is more than I expected after the opening weekend figures, so I will wait to see how 3rd WE goes before getting too excited. But that would be a great result.
