  1. Because WB paid for the reviews, obviously. The people know.
  2. Just a reminder that the deadline is approaching and when you send in a ballot, send it in to both me and Spaghetti!
  3. That’s definitely better than taunting world leaders that your button is bigger than their button DAR2020
  4. I feel like those nuclear launch codes would be safer with DAR than Ethan
  5. The Post got an A, same as Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Coincidence? I THINK NOT!!! The corrupt fake news media is trying to convince us all people liked their propaganda SJW movies! But look at the RT Audience scores, then you’ll know the truth!!!!
  6. I kind of think Shape of Water wins cinematography but it depends on if it can win BAFTA and CES
  7. It obviously meant the last nail in the coffin of the idea of Avatar being the most popular franchise.
  8. Blu-Rays are the past. Let the past die, kill it if you have to.
  9. Except why get up and walk to your closet when you can touch a button on the remote and stream!
  10. If you have HBOGO both Get Out and La La Land are on it. And that’s all you’ll ever need.
  11. I’m going to make a Paddington bot, they took that story in directions I did not agree with for that bear!
  12. The Post isn’t overly exciting material for the GA, plus I could see it having backlash with conservative movie goers due to Streep and the big media angle.
  13. I hope the Post can leg it out, but it’s really reminding me of Selma. An Oscar movie that has all of the reasons in the world to breakout and be a smash hit at the Oscars and oddly struggles at both the awards and the box office.
  14. Likely means Deakins isn’t getting his Oscar this year.
  15. This would be the one case where I’d agree with the Nolanites that a snub for Nolan would be ridiculous. Dunkirk is very well directed.
  16. While we’re talking about Oscar movies, post your Oscar nom predictions for the contest before Jan 23 for a chance to win a month of gold membership!
  17. Oscar expansions will probably wane for a few weeks then pick back up after nominations. Nominations are revealed fairly late this year, which I think hurts the box office of these movies because they’ll lose screens before noms come.
  18. BD used to have a strong correlation to BP, I think preferential ballot and expanded field is really changing that. Theres been a split 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2017 (and now likely 2018). The split is becoming more of a norm.
  19. I don’t think the crowd attracted by Shape of Water really cares too much about the relationship.
  20. The Post is coming for American Sniper’s record!!!
  21. I think this will be fine a week before Truth or Dare, simply because I think ToD will Be a non-factor.
  22. Yeah, Get Out and Lady Bird are both universally liked and benefit by the preferential ballot, so it’d simply come down to which of the two has more passion (and that’s Get Out). Lady Bird isn’t impossible though as of yet, it depends on how the guilds though. Id be inclined to overlook the BAFTA snub for Lady Bird if it won PGA and then either WGA/SAG. If Three Billboards wins BAFTA + PGA I think it wins, if it’s SAG + BAFTA things are a little more open, and if it only wins one thing (or less) I may be more inclined to think something else is winning.
